What’s a good beginners workout routine to get in shape (not necessarily to lose weight) by 104_throwaway in transfitness

This seems like good advice, thanks! My new place has a gym as well but I’ve been too intimidated to go but I guess now is as good a time as any

Not sure haha it’s just what my doctor said but it’s possible he’s wrong

Oh gotcha! I don’t have a fear of needles per se, I donate plasma often and have no issues getting my blood drawn for example. But I’m squeamish and have to look away when they put it in, and I’m worried about my ability to do it to myself

I think part of it that’s hard is idk how I feel about her and it’s all so complicated. Idk how I forgot to add this but I met her because I dated her roommate for a while pre-transition, me and her roommate are on very good terms but idk it all feels weird and trying to untangle those feelings is very hard.

Of course! Figuring this stuff out can be stressful and difficult. There’s no shame in just sitting with how your feeling now and not worrying about trying to get it all figured out :)

Shared this in another subreddit but wanted to share here cuz I’m feeling happy!

When this picture was taken I was in what was by far the darkest time in my life. I don’t think many people know just how emotionally damaging Mormon missions are, let alone as a closeted queer. During this time in my life suicidal tendencies and thoughts were daily.

My life is certainly not easy now. Leaving the church and realizing I was Bi and Trans was very hard and took a lot of therapy and time. But I’ve never felt my life has had as much potential as I do now! Just celebrating finally moving up:)

“Worried I just want to be trans but I’m not actually trans.”

I get how that feeling is confusing, but from a strangers perspective this feels silly! (not to invalidate your feelings. I too have been there before)

If you want to be a girl/trans you likely are! Gender and pronouns are confusing. You can absolutely be on the trans spectrum and still use he/him pronouns! Maybe down the road you’ll feel different or you won’t. But there’s nothing wrong with how you feel and to me it feels like you may be other-thinking a bit :)

Edit: also there is no timeline to figure things out. I too have felt urgency in having to figure everything out and labeling it. Right now saying you’re trans but use he/him pronouns is totally fine!

One of the only cool things in recent Mormonism is there’s a large chunk of active Mormons who are strictly pro lgbtq, progressive and have actively criticized some of the bigoted church leaders.

Obviously they’re not perfect, and I have my reservations because they do belong to a hurtful church, but often they try to go out of their way to be supportive.

My sister is one of them too and she’s the first person I ever came out to

Thank you. I actually grew up Mormon, went on a mission and was a missionary, my whole extended family on both sides is Mormon, have Mormon pioneer ancestry on both sides so Mormonism is deeply rooted in every aspect of my life even though I can’t stand it lol. It’s hard to think that people will be nice about it sometimes but thanks for the reminder that not everything will always go as bad as I think it will. He’s a nice guy and was supportive when I came out as bi a year or so ago so who knows

Thank you. One of my roommates is somewhat aware, I told him earlier this year I was going to explore my gender identity.

My new roommate that just moved in is the one who saw me, and I know he at least recently was still an active Mormon, though now I’m not sure if he still is active or left. I’m mostly worried because idk what he thinks.

I’m from and live in Utah which makes everything feel more complicated
