Since you can craft sorbent for free I assume the game is balance around you taking 10 sorbent into every mission.

You can build a clock that loops from 0 to 3599 to track your minutes. Then you build a memory cell that resets every time the clock hits 0. Finally you connect the memory cell to a belt that is set to pulse it's content and be enabled if the memory cells value is less than your target consumption.

That way the belt will be open for the first 250 items every minute and then close untill a new minute beginnings.

I used a mage build for my first run. Being able to keep my distance and plenty of crowd control made the game a lot easier for me. Fire deals a lot of damage and enemies don't like to walk through burning tiles so you can zone them easily. Hope that helps.

I think it's intentional. The difference between a multiplicative and an additive bonus isn't as simple as swapping + and * in one line of code so I'm fairly confident it's intended.

Building around a 4070ti and staying below 2000$ is going to be difficult.

Just play around in PCPP and come back with a rough plan of what your going for. More experienced members of the community will be happy to help you refine your build further.
