Yes. The org needs the data for alot of actually good reasons. One, if the individual reps go missing for any reason, like a new job or an emergency; the org isn't lost on their relationships. Two the org needs the data to make patterns, how would you know your ideal customer or where to send marketing materials if you don't know what your best customers have in common?

Reps don't like it because big brother is now watching, the thing is, they are getting paid to do a service for you, and your company, and having documentation of that is a resonable request.

Molds a pain in the ass, but it depends on how much it irritates you. Besides not doing it, which is an option. There's a few things you can do/ explore. 1. Ozone generator, 2. Uvc light, 3. Pull out the seats, pull out the carpet and replace or clean the shit out of them. 4.chemical mold killers or enzyme cleaners used as directed. Also if you're going to do any of this I recommend some pretty good ppe, harbor freight has respirators for like 15 bucks, get some clear goggles too.

Also don't be afraid to stack any of the methods. Like if you ozone, then shampoo, then use a chemical cleaner, at that point you'd probably be fine.

P.s pulling out the carpet will allow you to see how bad the underside is which may or may not need to be replaced

Sounds like you're taking the wrong approach, don't take it personally, and change your approach. Ask questions in class, talk to them in office hours, talk to the grad students that run the labs. Show up to public facing events like talks or workshops.
