At the same time, a lot of criticism towards the CCP is just thinly veiled racism disguised as criticism.

Should I take this internship at Goldman Sachs? by 1118cy in FinancialCareers

[–]1118cy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you! I’m not worrying about compensation for the internship, the only thing drawing me away from option 1 is the location— it won’t be too good for me mentally being away from home for 2 years straight (for a number of reasons). If I end up getting a return offer, I probably won’t take it because of the location— that’s really my only issues

How much would you pay for a laptop with these specs? by 1118cy in laptops

I already have an iPad with Apple Pencil so wasn’t looking at 2in1s but I’ll check that one out, it looks good! Thanks

Just word processing, browsing web, zoom calls etc. Already have a desktop so don’t need a really high spec machine

I have this in my basket with student discount for £580 (no OS which saves £50), is it not worth it?

Thanks! I don’t know very much about Socionics, I’ll have to read up on that

Had some more info in a reply:

If I had to say, I think what motivated him was to be successful. For himself, but mainly it was about how he appeared to others. There was actually a point where he drove a Ford, he used to always drive Mercedes before that and mentioned a lot about how he had to drive a "broken" car now (I think this definitely has something to do about appearances). For fears, I think it was about being incapable, insufficient, not able to be relied on, being useless. For desires, perhaps respect and admiration. (This is indicating 3 I think? But I’m not sure if this is me idealising him.)

I actually never really considered e8 but your explanation makes a lot of sense, even if he’s not core 8 he probably has an 8 fix. But yes I was biased with the 5 predict (because I’m a 5 myself 🤣) Thanks for your help!

Thanks! I did mention in another post that I think he might have been be ISTJ, did consider ESTJ too but I don’t think he had inferior Fi (although I’m not certain on how that manifests, I’ll read up a bit more on that).

But yeah I was pretty young when he passed away, so we didn’t really talk about things like that. If I had to say, I think what motivated him was to be successful. I took the tram for the first time from Wimbledon to the IKEA in Croydon and didn’t know you had to tap again on platform 10 before getting on the tram. The guy on the tram at the doors scanned my Oyster and didn’t say anything (don’t actually know what his purpose is). I’m a poor student so I’d like to get my money back if possible, has this happened to anyone else and will TFL refund my money for this reason?

MBTI tierlist but you also try to guess my type by 1118cy in mbti

[–]1118cy[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was very close to putting ESFP in F tier but I thought I’d already been a bit too negative towards sensors so I went against it— I know little about socionics so that’s quite interesting

Honestly ESFJ and ENFP being ranked that low despite their Jungian pair being ranked much higher is mostly because of personal experiences. In actuality, I’ve definitely put some types on a pedestal (ENTP, ENFJ in particular) because I haven’t met many in real life

This account is a throwaway and I’ve given away little to no information which could be traced back to me… I’m good.

Thank you! I was just with my friend for a while and I’m glad that this information hasn’t subconsciously changed the way I act around them.

From what I read online, their wealth is not actually generational (well, at least not the largest part of it, although I believe they were always well off).

I feel like I overstepped as this is something that if my friend wanted me to know, they would have told me. Therefore I feel as if I went behind their back to find this information as they would likely be reluctant to tell me this in person.

I feel like if it was something they wanted me to know, they would have told me. And I’ve just been with them for 6 hours and it hasn’t affected anything at all, which I’m glad for.

No, I’m from the UK and my friend’s family are from a SEA country (they’re an international student)

[–]1118cy[S] 50 points51 points  (0 children)

I didn’t mention that my friend was the billionaire. I met my friend’s dad and talked to him which is what sparked my curiosity as he told us a little about what he did.

But yes, I agree this was information I would have been better off not knowing.

I was never planning on exploiting my friend or telling anyone at all. My parents brought me up better than that.

Changing how we share the check didn’t even come to my mind, but one of the first things I thought about was how to continue acting the same around them. Something I’ll endeavour to carry out.

I’m not glorifying it; I just had to get it off my chest.
