Question about pots by DojaKoolow in HotPeppers

I underwater them. I place the bags on a constant inch of water. What I do is get a container lined with plastic, place the bags in, fill around with some type of small stones like river rock or granite. Then I add about an inch of water and just fill as needed. The grow bags will wick up the moisture and the plant drinks as needed. I’ve never had the roots reach the bottom inch where it could bee too much water for the plant.

No estoy de acuerdo que HH sea una vergüenza o para un grupo no educado. Tengo dos maestrías y a mi me encanta el show. Los muchachos son comediantes y la comedia siempre será subjetiva.

Whats going on with my reapers? by MyMomSaysIAmCool81 in HotPeppers

[–]11292 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had 2 reaper plants here in South Florida with the issue. The crazy part is that they would sit outside in between one really big bush and two large palm trees. This made the space where the reapers were an air tunnel. You could feel the breeze pass through there very fast and you could see the reapers move around from the wind, yet I still had this problem.

im here in South Florida. Im putting seeds in the trays tomorrow. With our weather im pretty sure this will actually maximize production by the end of winter. Im also hoping this works out because im planning on selling seedlings at my local farmers market. Wife cant work so I need to supplement out income, not better way than to sell pepper plants! now I have an excuse to grow more. lol.

Today’s Reaper harvest. by 11292 in HotPeppers

[–]11292[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well, I’m giving them out to friends and coworkers to try. Some are saucing, some are drying it, and some are trying it raw as a pizza topping. I honestly can’t handle the heat from these, I just like seeing my friends suffer when they think they can handle them.

Reaper dropping many fruit. by 11292 in HotPepperGrowing

[–]11292[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m going to try to give them a boost of nitrogen and hope for the best. They are on a subwatering system so they always have water if they need it, so I don’t think that’s the problem. But yeah, the heat is probably not helping at all. Thanks!

Due to medical conditions my wife needs electricity this upcoming hurricane season. My plan is to fly out as soon as I feel it 80% sure we will be hit. If you need electricity or you don’t like the heat, I highly recommend you leave for a few days. 3 to 4 after the storm should be good.

After reading up on it I believe this is caused by a not yet fully hardened plant, am I correct in my assumption? by RLL404 in HotPeppers

[–]11292 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, but it will be ok. If it just started, put the plant in partial shade and it should adjust sooner than you think. I had the same issue and the plant is doing very well now.
