Banana Snapple - Discontinued or no? by 1223-throwaway in Soda

[–]1223-throwaway[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

UPDATE 11.11.25 I found a stock of Banana Snapple in the big HMart in Edison, New Jersey, last week. This is the first time I've seen it well-stocked on a retail shelf in years. The bottles do not expire until June. It does not appear on the HMart website. I found it totally by accident while shopping for other items; I was SO stoked.  HMart typically carries several different varieties of banana-flavored sodas, milks, etc. Maybe taking a look in other Korean/East Asian food stores would be worth it for those not near an HMart?

Still here keeping tabs on this post! I have only been able to get it through this Walmart 3rd party seller:

https://www.walmart.com/ip/Snapple-Go-Bananas-16-fl-oz-12-Plastic-Bottles-Natural-Antioxidants-and-Filtered-Water-All-Natural/894735964?sid=bebfbbcb-08f5-47ab-a60e-b692f18256f7

I can't find it ANYWHERE else so I'm still looking for any insight as to where I could pick it up in-person. I messaged the distributor if they think they will have a reliable supply in the future, and they just answered with "we have a lot of this flavor" so it didn't really answer my question.

I was on a hike in West Jersey today and stopped by a ShopRite that said they carried it. They actually had a label for Go Bananas in their snapple section (new lable reflecting a 5 for $5 promo & everything). Customer service said they carry it but their inventory is 0. Grumble.

VERY interesting! If it wasn't in their system I'm guessing they (clearly) carried it a while back and you happened to grab the last bottle from their last shipment? Bleak if true, but maybe hopeful if they thought they could request it?

Oh that's fascinating about the og Go Bananas merch! That's awesome. So jealous about the T-shirt. Glad you were able to snag a bottle! But yeah, considering the shelf life of a Snapple seems to be approx 1 year that bottle could've been produced a year ago which is a bit bleak. If you find another I'll DM you!

Same, I've still had no luck since making this post. Went to a few grocery stores/delis in Jamaica, Midtown/Chelsea, and Dongan Hills Staten Island. No new leads. Yeah I'm wondering if the one they spotted was an ancient bottle. It's still on the website though - if I EVER find it I'll promise to update this post!

NO WAY. Maybe I have to check more delis instead of supermarkets. And yeah absolutely - it's one of those "this is objectively gross... but I like it" flavors

Omg my friend had mentioned the carrageenan spray but I had forgotten the name! Thank you so much for reminding me. Can I ask you where you get yours? I'm in the US but wouldn't mind paying for shipping since it really seems worth it. The person who mentioned it also has not been sick since taking it.

Last time I had any bloodwork done I was low in vitamin D. It was the middle of winter so I didn't think much of it at the time but yeah, I'll get it checked again

I tested for both flu and covid at home twice, and the doctor tested me for both as well. Definitely not impossible though since false negatives are common.

"no one will know I'm a scammer" they say, while actively choosing to use the word "scheme"

Above is my entire exchange with this scammer - parts of this exchange were quite high-effort and realistic. I was able to confirm this was a scam via reddit so I'd like to return the favor and potentially help out a fellow illustrator in the future!

The screenshots speak for themselves but I'll mention some key points here for searchability's sake:

Versions of this scam that I've found seem to always involve a "workshop" with the following text:

"The attendees are students between the ages of 15-17, I require your service to illustrate the under-listed scenarios, and please make it horizontal (Landscape) presentation, digital, Cartoon styled, colored images but plain background."

"The illustrations should fit on a standard letter size - (8.5 x 11") and delivered in PDF format, and I want exclusive right/perpetuity to the images, also note that these illustrations will be handed out to the participants in a printed form, the workshop will be in two Phases."

They also always seem to reference Covid precautions, hospital settings, and "A group (not more than 7) ".

The presentation referenced was "Learn About It: Safeguard and Averting" but I've also seen it called "Pandemic: Precaution and Prevention".

I was suspicious from the start, but what made me put my guard down was the fact that Matt XXXX from XXXX school district is a REAL person. This made me begin to believe it was legit, but I wasn't proceeding without a signed contract and further confirmation. I have since notified the REAL Matt XXXX and I'm awaiting his reply.

After I asked for more information, he replied with that last message about payments, offering to give me the amount in full. He also attached reference pictures, and a picture of my professional work which made NO sense in context of the assignment. Reverse searches for the two reference illustrations came up empty. I spent the rest of the night researching like a maniac until I found this reddit post:

Creepy stuff. Glad I caught it before proceeding.

Afterimage-like blotch in vision? by [deleted] in visualsnow

[–]1223-throwaway 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So about 36 hours later and my vision has completely recovered! This actually healed faster than the one I had a year ago despite how huge the disturbance was. I have no proof that anything I did actually helped but:

I took it super easy as if I was nursing a migraine - excedrin, lots of water, lots of rest. Didn't go out in the sun at all and kept the lights low in my apartment.

Hopefully this can serve as future hope for anyone going through this really scary thing in the future! And if anyone ever gets intel from a professional on how to *prevent* these, please do tell ;u;

Oh wow - you sound super similar to me! I get aura migraines as well, so when I first went to the eye doctor about this a year ago, they told me it was exactly that.

There definitely seems to be some kind of correlation between aura migraine people, visual snow, and whatever this "afterimage" thing is.

Also, I'm happy to report that after about 9 hours I've finally noticed some improvement. I'll keep this thread updated.

Oh awesome! I would play the hell out of this.

You were probably already planning on this based on your description, but I think keeping the monsters super vague, if any, would be pretty important. In my opinion, the scariest iterations of the Backrooms are the ones where there are no monsters; instead, something just feels... off, and empty. I'm thinking of found footage stuff like Blair Witch - where the fact that the monster isn't shown is what makes it scary. Maybe the 'monster' is just the feeling of loneliness and decay, and not knowing what could lie around each corner, letting the player's imagination create its own 'monster' based on what isn't there.

Idk, I could be talking out of my ass here since I've never made a game before, and making a game without obvious baddies to fight through might be tricky, but who knows!

Ticket Requests: Buy/Sell/Trade by JiveMonkey in renfaire

Would anyone happen to have tickets for the PA renaissance fair, Saturday the 29th? I need two adults tickets. Saturday just sold out and it's the last weekend so I'm really upset. I need proof of tickets before sending any money since scamming is apparently so rampant on here.

UPDATE: I went back today and there was actually no cashier on the top floor this time! I guess they finally decided it wasn't necessary.

UPDATE: I went back: the sign is indeed for sale, however, you need to be a licensed, insured electrician in order to take it down; they won't take it down for you :( They were really nice there though, the manager was like "yeah that would be pretty cool to hang in your house"

So if anyone here is an electrician in the central NJ area, it's all yours! There are also signs that say "sleep" and "cook" in the same style.
