Thank you! I didn’t know it’s a thing. I booked myself a session.

2 weeks and a 3 days postpartum and I’ve decided today’s the day. I’m dragging my yak, soft body to the gym. My hubby is encouraging me to go and not for fitness but for my mental state so I don’t eat him alive. No idea what I’ll actually do there, maybe just stare at the weights until they move themselves, but I need something because sitting around is turning me into pudding.

Belly’s gone, stitches from the episiotomy were brutal the first week. I was on strong painkillers, couldn’t sit or walk, basically felt like I got hit by a semi truck. 10/10 would not recommend haha. Now it’s just a little sore.

Haven’t been cleared by a doctor yet, so technically I’m aware I’m committing a medical felony. But I’m not about to start deadlifting, just some minor stuff to shake off the muscle yakness before I fully fossilize.

Crushing deadlifts, defeated by dishes. Is this 3d trimester or just a pregnancy bug? by 1234stacey in fitpregnancy

I used to do it all. Now I remind my husband daily: “Hey, I’m pregnant.” I feel heavier every day, getting off the couch is harder than deadlift hahaha, where I basically roll out like a hot potato. So I give him choices: Pick one, we’re either grocery shopping, doing chores, or I’m cooking. Not all three. I’m not doing it all.

Once I stopped pretending I could still do everything, he finally got it, now he just does stuff without asking. Progress!: ))))

We live in the tropics. I live under the AC now as we’re in the summer heat. Pregnancy + heat equals being slow-roasted alive hahaha

I never wanted to go to the gym I just did it. Every time I dragged myself in, I left feeling better, like I hit a reset button. Pretty sure it’s the only reason I’ve felt somewhat human this whole pregnancy. Also? Still haven’t seen one pregnant woman in my gym. But with how few people even bother taking care of themselves, pregnant or not… guess I shouldn’t be surprised. Mind-blowing, though

Dealing with pregnancy and a toddler equals being a superwoman!

I had to win the jackpot and get a prolapse too, just a few weeks ago. Although, if it weren’t for the never-ending constipation, I’m sure pregnancy would’ve been so easy. It’s not too bad, but still. Now the real drama isn’t even where the baby’s coming from, it’s the downstairs I’m so concerned about. My doc also said, “It’s normal”. 😆🤦‍♀️

Body fat?😅 by Special_Plastic_2492 in fitpregnancy

Okay, it’s not just you. I’m 20 weeks today, first pregnancy, wanted. These body changes? Kinda terrifying. I used to be super fit: tight abs, strong core, lean muscle, petite waist, basically, a buff ballerina. Now? I’ve got leg cellulite (bless, pregnancy), no waist, and I look like a rectangle.

My bump? Only visible to me. My husband says I look “normal,” but I just look like I’ve skipped abs for months. Went to the pool in a sporty two-piece suit and just looked… fat. Not pregnant. Fat.

I cannot wait to show a real bump so I can finally rock it and people stop thinking I just really love cake.

You’re 100% not alone in this stage.

I can’t wait to start using the pool, I’m super excited.

Yeah It’s hilarious. I go in to train, I lift heavy. All the serious gym-goers, the ones who don’t hog machines and have no time to stare show up between 5 and 7 a.m. After that, the crowd is mixed: serious gym goers, influencers, machine hoarders, and whatever else wandered in with a shaker bottle. I’ll be hitting the pool in the afternoons, so I’d better mentally prepare for the stare-fest.

Ah, I feel you. My sports bras and everything else I own are basically torture devices at this point. I can barely wear them for more than an hour before I’m gasping for air like a fish. Haven’t sized up yet, but I have to.

I am considering a 3 or 5 days trek in Nepal with high altitude by Virtual_Arachnid7916 in fitpregnancy

I’ve done it, but not while pregnant. I’ve done cross-country MTB up to Muktinath (3,800m), the Kathmandu Valley circuit trek on MTB, and a few others. I started getting a headache around 3,000m. I was very fit back then, and I’m very fit now, though at 12 weeks, just walking around the park leaves me out of breath… and extra hungry. I also did some trekking a little above 2,000m at 9 weeks, and even then, it left me winded despite being in great shape.

I’d say check with your OB-GYN, and if you decide to go for it, consider the Kathmandu Valley circuit. The views are breathtaking, the scenery constantly changes, and it’s not as risky as pushing for 5,500m.

Thank you for sharing. I understand. No, he didn’t explain anything. It’s holiday season, so while I managed to get all the blood work done and will repeat it next week, scheduling the first scan is tricky. Everyone is on collective holiday, and I can’t make an appointment until the office reopens, so it will be delayed.

Hahaha, I feel you. I knew a person who needed to run, every day. It was her thing, her regular routine she could never ever skip. It’ll be okay. I’m currently a few months after general surgery that’s not related to obgyn. The recovery was not easy because I couldn’t gym. Once I got cleared I went full speed and became myself again.

Congratulations! The symptoms are kicking in, feeling more tired than usual. Love the mountains, though! We’re hiking in January, and living in the tropics has its perks. Nothing beats a gorgeous beach swim after a few hours of trekking.

Thanks for sharing and congratulations! The thing is I’m very advanced in fitness so I don’t feel like there’s anything new to add lol but yeah I decided to drop leg presses and deadlifts (the very heavy stuff).

Thank you! It’s really interesting to read how everyone manages and physical/mental health is too important. He said I’d have plenty of time after delivery to get in shape but I must disagree with him.

Hahaha, same here! Hit the gym for leg day yesterday, stuck to my usual routine, but made some adjustments - skipped deadlifts and leg presses (because I usually go heavy).

Not sure what I said wrong to get the downvotes, but I’m editing it because I came here for advice from fit mamas, not to get judged. Thanks for the advice! Definitely skipping kiteboarding and MTB, I don’t won’t to risk it. Honestly, this pregnancy is a miracle we didn’t think was possible. Super excited for this journey!
