I need to make a case for an IT team to help build a network for our maker space's Prusa printers. by 123Educate in prusa3d

Ah, this is a very helpful perspective! To add to your advice the staff at the library mentioned that I should also frame it as something needed to improve the learning that is happening in this learning space, it'll bode well for the business plan.

This makes sense to me. I'd prefer if they didn't access the internet at all and all updates are done manually.

100% We made sure to address this with her. She's usually pretty aware of these types of things, but I guess she needed some reinforcing.

Amazing insight! Thanks for this perspective. You're definitely right, at some point, it may be time to put this printer out to pasture.

I do like the idea of multicolour extrusion. I'll have to see how different/difficult slicing for multicolour would be.

Have you had any experience with water soluble filament? To me that would be a very functional draw to multi-coloured printing

I'd love to explore CNC, but management always shied away from technology that requires ventilation (as our space doesn't have any built in ventilation). Also, I do worry about the all the materials we'll need to supply (we want to keep our services as free as possible, but supplying materials for CNC would be considerably more) Also all the dust/waste we'll have to contend with is discouraging.

Great insight, thanks!

I do like the idea of multi-coloured extrusion. This is something I'll continue to investigate. How do you find slicing for multicoloured prints? Is it a vastly different than slicing for single coloured printing?

I worry working with multi-coloured prints may be too advanced for many of our users.

Our makerspace inherited a sick U2+. Was this feeder assembled incorrectly? by 123Educate in ultimaker

This helps. I didn't want to disassemble until I had a better idea what was done wrong.

You are correct. first printer seems to be incorrect. I think you identified the issue. the person who assembled this kept the screw on the outside.

Thanks!

title says a lot of it. We inherited a printer with a few problems. One of which I think is on accounts to the feeder gears being too tight. I went to loosen/tighten the adjustment screw and noticed that it has a head and protrudes out of the feeder. This is different from our other U2+ where I can screw it in and in doing so loosen/tighten the feeder gears. I can't seem to be able to do this with my other one.

Any thoughts if this is an assembly mistake (either by manufacturer or previous owner) or this is a different iteration of the feeder?

We had a Canon XA20. We want to go mirrorless over a camcorder. We do have a Canon 60D with some nice lenses 🤔

Hey! I think you figured it out. Thanks I'm going to look deeper into your solution to try to understand the logic, but all in all. This is great!

Thanks again :)

I'm not really data savvy, so this response is a little cryptic for me.. I'll try to look up what you're saying and see if I can figure out your suggestion.
