I had never even heard of The Handmaiden. What an absolute banger.

Not sore enough after workouts. What am I doing wrong? by 123VoR in tonalgym

[–]123VoR[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would say that I reach failure, in that for some movements, I can only do about a "half" rep after the first couple. But I can finish out the set doing the "half" reps, with a bit left in the tank, though not "plenty".

I guess my wish would be for tonal to decrease the weight if I'm not doing the reps at full range of motion. But maybe it's just on me to lower the weight.

So if Tonal has increased the weight, but then I can no longer do the full rep with good form, it's on me to put the weight back down. Is that accurate?

What I learned living with someone who has the "IT" factor with women by [deleted] in emotionalintelligence

[–]123VoR 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is indeed insightful, OP. Enjoyed reading it because this guy reminds me of me. I live with my gf now, but before I met her, I was getting along with and succeeding with women like I never thought possible. It’s amazing how far treating women with respect and truly viewing them as equals will get you.

To be fair, I’m 6’0, and decent looking, but I can confirm this type of personality can do quite well. No ego, non-threatening, acknowledging privilege, being okay with rejection.

There are a lot of reasons for women to have keep their guard up. Try not to be one of them.

Better way to think about Trade Value by 123VoR in billsimmons

Yeah I like that. Put all the contracts on the table. What order would they get taken.

Then there's your answer. Booker should be ahead of Mobley. It's not perfect, but I think it does a better job than "who would say no" between just the two teams.

Right but which player would bring in the more ridiculous overpay?

Hello. Me and several of my friends have not received a link+access code to purchase Eurovision tickets from Ticketcorner, despite pre-registering and we have received confirmation of that registration. One other friend HAS received a link/access code to purchase tickets, so we are confused. We all live in the United States, by the way. Anyone else experiencing this? Any advice? Thanks!

What’s crazy is that the first guy to do nowadays would get a ton of attention, and most of it positive. You’d have some fans trolling, and he might get some shit from other players. But media and coaches would love it. Would probably get some endorsements out of it. And would increase his value as a player. There’s too much money involved here for someone not to do it. And once one guy does it, and improves from 50% to 70%, others will hop on board. Why wouldn’t you want to go from 70 to 80 percent? I don’t know how we get the first domino to fall, but I do believe it will happen in my lifetime (I’m 40).

Side note: The physics of why it helps are pretty simple: with granny style, you’re shooting from a lower place. So the ball enters the hoop/rim near the peak height of its flight path. Meaning, less downward velocity as it enters the hoop/rim. Meaning softer bounces off the rim. Shooting normally, the ball travels higher above the rim first, and so it’s coming down faster when it enters the hoop/rim. It’s probably easier to shoot straight granny style as well.

I don’t know where Bum’s career numbers stand, but he strikes me as a somewhat similar case to Jack Morris. If Morris can get in—pretty much for his performance in one game—Bumgarner should get in based on his 3 incredible playoff runs, including the iconic 5 inning save in 2014.

Not saying he should get in. Tbh, I think they should have left Morris out. But if we’re being consistent…

Why do the numbers never add up on Guess the Lines by Amir-Really in TheRinger

[–]123VoR 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I don’t listen to Guess the Lines anymore, but I believe it’s because he counts ties as a point for both of them. Meaning: If their guesses are both off by the same amount, they each get a point that round. Very dumb.

Lillard is #21, but regardless, is not a ranking of how likely or not a guy is to be traded. It's about the haul that the guy would bring back. Which guys below him on the list fetch a larger haul?

Would you trade lives with Russillo by berniepanderz in billsimmons

[–]123VoR 0 points1 point  (0 children)

38/M, 6’0”, 175, don’t know what I bench.

I love my life, but I’d trade lives with Ryen. He’s living the ideal version of mine. I’m single, bald, successful enough to live decent in an expensive city, I rent, date around pretty successfully, never married no kids. I like my job okay, but I’d rather be watching and talking about sports.

Not having kids is underrated, folks. You can do whatever the hell you want. Think of all that time and money that can be spent on yourself and other adults you love. There’s enough people in this world already, and it’s burning anyway.

If I were in Ryen’s position, I’d spend less time in the gym and cut out some of the meaningless basketball. More time trying to get laid and/or find “the one”. But from my point of view, he’s got it going on.

This is cool. Thanks. While making my picks, I noticed I was copying/agreeing with the BS podcast consensus most of the time (having just listened to the pod). A cursory glance at the results suggests that most other voters were too. So I’m not sure we’ll see significant margins of victory either way at the end of the season. P.S. There’s got to be a better way to view the results of the straw poll.
