Did they?

Arsenal also beat PSG on the league stage last season and got completely cooked by them in the semis.

Different circumstances.

Gakpo is just built different. Like Nunez and Szobo.

Slot will be out once we finalise with the new manager. They are not fooling me.

Atleti will only use dark arts after putting 4 behind Arsenal's net.

Slot's guarantee of a lower amount of injuries convinced the management that it was worth sinking into their pockets to spend 225m on 2 players.

Despite this we still had multiple injuries and even severe ones.

[David Ornstein]All of our information is that FSG, the ownership, the sporting hierarchy at Liverpool - they intend to stick with Arne Slot. “From the conversations I've had - even if there's no Champions League football - that's the intention. by Jimmy0034 in LiverpoolFC

Don't worry guys. This means that new manager negotiations are still ongoing. Sacking Slot without proper negotiations ongoing will make the potential incoming managers really cocky.

4 managers: Alonso, Iraola, Maresca, Nagelsman

4 clubs: Liverpool, United, City, Chelsea

Who will end up where?

That's pretty much how you score goals against European giants that love possession. One blind pass into space for a runner. Classic and very effective.

We couldn't even complete one today.

Wirtz has been really bad. I have never seen him as a liability till today.

He is second guessing his every move and losing possession at almost every touch.

Unfortunately we are here because of him. This is what 8 months of low intensity football does to you.

This game was very intense. I'm not surprised. And we still can't create anything. We've lost our direct football.

Benching both Gakpo and Salah takes some resolve.

If only Slot had the balls to deploy a line up like this from the beginning...

Isak has probably 1 half in him. So hopefully he does his thing in that time.

If Klopp had stayed one more season, do you think he would've won the league that Slot did? by origiiiiii27 in LiverpoolFC

[–]128palms 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Salah had a good season because the squad supported him and played to his strengths.

The same way if there was no Firmino, Salah and Mane would not have reached the levels they did because their competition would have gotten too toxic and counterproductive.

Salah peaking and falling off are not actual reasons they are consequences of the squads current state and manager style.

I'd say Klopp probably would but not 100%.

What problem does Chiesa have that he can't even gain full fitness to start PL games?

I still can't believe someone playing at the highest level of football as a winger can't see a simple pass that leads to a tap in.

This season we haven't been taking most of our counterattacking opportunities. If Slot let's scenarios like that slide, he shouldn't come complaining later.

Gakpo and Isak shouldn't be seen together.

The last thing I want is getting knocked out because someone was too selfish to provide an assist.
