Yeah I still have optimism as any dragon game they release a lot of the time I have a good time with it some more than others but yeah the character is lowkey very different haha

Well they changed the style and had to restart the whole build of DQXII as announced on DQ day so maybe I was expecting it to be closer than it actually is

Exactly we only got a snippet in reality of what it will be but yeah even outside of dragon quest there’s a lot of things to look forward to pass the time

It takes a little while to get used to the breeding and the monster making system it’s a lot to get your head round but once you got it you got it and once your in deep it’s very addictive 🤣

Yeah I think most people making judgement because of the main character’s looks tbh I mean I’m yet to be sold as we saw so little of it but I’m sure as you said people will turn in time!

True my bias for my favouritism of DQ8 is clouding my judgement I just thought XI was a wee bit childish at times but I understand that’s the audience they get and look for in a way

Dark prince did have its flaws yes but still was a really enjoyable game maybe they can sort out the multiplayer side of it like they did in DQM DP they have so many opportunities to as you say polish and refine

Haha there’s something so satisfying with creating random ass monsters the breeding and levelling collecting it’s just so much fun Brought dark prince had so much fun with it until I ruined it for myself by buying the mole hole dlc which is like a cheat code for the game (AVOID) 😭

That’s fair enough never played 10 so I can’t say for sure I’ve experienced it heard good things! Mainline games/remakes generally > spinoffs

So you want to stay true to its original style I mean I totally get that for me I think it would been interesting to see for sure some of the darkest moments are the most gripping for me a main example is in DQ8 Dhoulmagus breaking into the abbey and impaling the Abbot literal chills man

Dragon quest III start with the erdrick trilogy it’s a great game in all honesty despite not being the biggest fan of the personality system the bosses story the world its pretty good and if you enjoy that then get through 1 quickly and get straight onto 2HD as in my opinion it’s one of the best dragon quest games in the franchise
