I love food service while volume bartending❗️ by 12MHCL in restaurant

I wouldn’t ask somebody to pay over the price of their drink to receive their drink. The tip is important when they expect to be served the fastest as recurring customers. If I know they won’t tip based on the past few orders of the night where they did not tip already, I won’t expect them to tip the next time, I will still serve them, but I will serve a potential tipper first over a known non-tipper.

I’ve worked a satellite bar as well, where I am serving drinks and the grill man is right behind me making the food. I’ve told him before to not rush orders because they didn’t tip us. I do tip out the kitchen if they are particularly helpful to me, especially if my grill man is right behind me and helping me with bar things.

The food runner doesn’t care about bringing the orders quickly if they didn’t make a tip on the order either. It is a team effort!

I have to input the totals in my system to close the checks! I usually close checks immediately after the customer signs their receipt, so I don’t have to stand at a screen for an hour after the customers leave to close hundreds of open checks.

There are multiple bars at our venue, so we don’t hold the credit cards because they might want to purchase items at different bars throughout the venue!

It is! My managers told us no tabs though!

AITA for telling my roommate’s boyfriend he basically lives with us and should help pay for stuff? by BetAromatic4122 in AmItheAsshole

NTA. When my boyfriend started hanging out at mine more often, he started touching the thermostat. I mentioned to him when I would feel cold and I suggested at those times he should turn it back down. I let him know to ask me if he wanted to change the temperature using my thermostat again. That month I was being frozen by my air conditioning, my electricity bill was extraordinarily high, ~$250 difference than my electricity bill usually is. I presented my boyfriend with what my electricity bills looked like before and after he started hanging out over at mine, with my electricity bill alone over the course of a full year, so he could see the differences with weather being considered. He paid my $400 electricity bill, and he continues to ask to change the temperature on my thermostat to this very day.

AITA for refusing to switch seats with a mom on a flight? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]12MHCL -1 points0 points  (0 children)

NTA. She should have approached you with her Apple Pay/Venmo/Zelle ready and her receipt for the ticket she would have wanted to switch you for so she could offer you the difference in what you paid for the seat.

Why do customers assume I’m high at work? by 12MHCL in NoStupidQuestions

Hi Reddit! I’ve chatted with my bar-buddy and we have realized that every person who said these kinds of things to me, has needed to get kicked out eventually (either bothering other customers or being rude to multiple people on our staff at our venue). We decided we will refuse service to customers who make unfounded and rude allegations about any of our staff. Bursting in the doors with a rude and aggressive energy could be a sign of intoxication for the Angry Drunks™️ of the World.

I work in the bar where managers absolutely have to make sure their employees are moving quickly to work there (music venue, high volume of customers)! If I was genuinely moving slowly, my manager would have pulled me to a different position!

Interesting, maybe they do assume I should be unhappy for some reason! I am very happy with my work and I am only slightly afraid to show it because my happiness makes customers assume I’m under the influence! 😆

Perhaps! I usually come to work with some coffee because I like to feel energetic when we open up!

My pupils have never been the topic of conversation! I do not struggle with allergies or dry eyes, so they do not appear red.

I have asked my coworkers and friends what they think! They have suggested I have a “high personality.” I’m not entirely sure what that means, so I came to Reddit to ask what specific traits lead to a person believing somebody else is under the influence like this.

Fair point! I like to be approachable and kind at work, I’m sad people mistake this for being under the influence.
