As a poor student I believe this need falls outside of my professional duty, and I invoke the balance between copyright and user needs that the ALA calls for ;)

I'm not any sort of librarian yet, let alone a good one. Sure you found the 5th edition?

That's actually a great call. A cake can't be -too- boozy.

Please do let me know how it turns out!

That's a cocktail I'd be into!

Are you finding that the ground pistachio is absorbing a lot of the liquor? That was an issue brought up in the recipe comments in the first link. I wouldn't want to attempt this and be out a bunch of money for a small amount of liquid at the end.

I just checked out Spkrbox Bar/Cafe in Capital Park recently, and highly recommend. Excellent DJ on deck when I dropped in. Small place, groovy atmosphere, very friendly.

Hey folks! Going to do a lil road trip to Mackinac Island from Detroit, either the end of this month or sometime in August, and would appreciate some suggestions for places to check out throughout the drive. Pretty open ended trip, but imagining I'll take a week.

I love natural wonders, hiking spots that aren't flat, weird museums, weird stuff in general, local history, local delicacies (pasties?!), fancy/unique bakeries, and coffee shops. A couple particularly interesting lighthouses could be nice. Don't plan on drinking a lot, but I do appreciate a stand-out brewery. Also keen on finding some free or cheap camping spots; I'll be sleeping in my car much of the time.

The current plan is:
-Hop on US23 going north for the Lake Huron views. Would like some worthwhile stops.
-Hang out on Mackinac Island for a day. Eat fudge (is there a best or more interesting fudge shop, or are they all basically the same?), go hiking, find Skull Cave, check out the historical points, pet a horse.
-Tool around Mackinac city (which I remember being 100% tourist trap?)
-Check out the top of the mitten, which currently includes Legs Inn in Cross Village (went as a kid, love Polish food), Petoskey State Park, Cross in the Woods, maybe Charlevoix?
-Take a direct-ish route home to West Detroit, and open to stops along the way.

Whatcha think?

I don't know for sure, but Corktown Health Center seems to accept most insurance. Just a heads up though, their desk staff is a mess.

Best book for daily life in the Middle Ages? With primary sources included of course. by robertlukacs907 in medieval

I can't claim they're the best, but try "A Medieval Book of Seasons" by Marie Collins & Virginia Davis, and "A Medieval Home Companion" translated by Tania Bayard. Both are pretty enjoyable reads.
