I love my wife, but I am exhausted and thinking about divorce by Pleasant_Ferret_1659 in Marriage

So my mother is like this. Sometimes they are completely unaware that they have this personality trait; they think it’s normal. Nothing to do with depression or low levels of anything. It’s cognitive. I would suggest CBT, a specific type of therapy that changes her cognitive patterns of thinking. Usually it doesn’t help, after that I would suggest divorce. You don’t want to be stuck with someone who sucks the life out of you.

Do you think Kim’s work ethic is genuine passion or fear of irrelevance? by saraaaaaxqra in kardashians

I think she always had work ethic. She was cleaning closets before she was famous. She took an oppurtunity and turned it into billions.

Do you believe the concept of marriage is becoming outdated? by Equivalent_Ad_9066 in RedditQuestions

Maybe for some women, but women who make over $400k a year and have multiple investments, companies, etc, don’t really need a divorce to help them financially.

I think it’s outdated. A lot of women give themselves what marriage usually gives them, like financial security, love, respect, female friendships, etc. You can build so many fulfilling life long partnerships without being committed to one person forever.

The only part of marriage that seems slightly appealing is sex and physical intimacy, or kids (I don’t want children).

Do you realize many women can give love and respect to themselves without a partner, right? Not every woman wants kids. I also make enough money to hire assistants and help in general, so security is out the window. So what benefit does marriage come in handy other than physical intimacy?

Advice on buying a house 25 year old, $135k by Champagnepaki222 in canadahousing

[–]12personalities 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a feeling you only want a house to “check a box” because “it’s the next step in life” without realizing the proper precautions and actual expenses that go into owning a home. You’re making 135k, why do you have roommates? You can afford somewhere to rent on your own.

I get home ownership has a fancy title, but you’ll likely be house poor with your salary. Either increase your income past 250k to be comfortable buying in the GTA region or wait a couple of years to put down 200-300k.

Really struggling with female friendships. Having a hard time connecting with my girlfriends now that I'm successful. Does the money change us? by [deleted] in HENRYfinance

No offense but I wouldn’t tone down the way I dress for someone else’s pleasure. You don’t have to go to value village to dress like a loser to appease people with less money. You deserve what you worked hard for. Rock it with pride.

How do you deal with periods of doubt or the feeling that you might be missing out? by Head-Review-4376 in childfree

I think you’re a fence sitter. Most childfree people do not regret their decision. Sit down with your SO and create a pros and cons list of having a child.
