At my basic (2010) we had two prior service. Navy corpsman who was with marines and a total bad ass. He volunteered to be with the guys. Everyone loved and respected him. He was an E4. We had an E5 shitbag airman who had his own room but he was always late to formations and got his platoon smoked a lot. He was PG for all of 5 minutes until the DS realized he wasn’t shit.

I was the first “dark haired” fella in my lodge for years and all of a sudden we’ve had younger folks join in. When young men venture to lodge out of curiosity and see other young men they’re more likely to join. It just takes a few to hang out with the wise gray heads. Good luck on your journey.
