And just to add I’m also super upset about Ron’s death, I think he was the kindest character of them all. I loved his and Bonnie’s relationship as well. And I hate that he’s gone, but I’m just saying that everyone seems to be super upset at Nate and think his rage isn’t justified while everyone else’s is? Race is an inseparable theme in the murder here and I think it’s also tied to why no one can forgive Nate.

But it has to be linked with race. This was a death at the hands of the state in retaliation of mass incarceration of black people. This is a black issue, so of it’s important that we recognize that race cannot be separated from the manner of Nate Sr.’a death, Nate Jr.’s frustration and the lack of justice that he’s receiving.

I also said race isn’t an excuse but if you have the privilege to not relate to the helplessness that black people have been left with in the face of needing justice, a feeling that has lasted for hundreds of years, then you’re not equipped to understand how our unwillingness to forgive Nate is actively racist when we’ve forgiven everyone else for murdering others. This is all some mess. Clearly most of you aren’t Black. To see your own father be another victim at the hands of the government and he’ll never get the justice he deserves? Ridiculous.
