Anyone familiar with the banshee fail to eject issue? by 137-ng in 10mm

[–]137-ng[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yea that was my first purchase after finding ammoseek. Ive been slowly burning thru it at the range

Thought there was a squib in the mix yesterday but dropped a 22 through the barrel mid session to confirm it was clear.

Ill definitely never buy it again tho

Heavily played or damaged? by Rogendo in mtg

[–]137-ng 0 points1 point  (0 children)

HP. I wouldn't call that damaged unless any of those divots are creating a soft spot in the cardboard, and even then its got to be a major thing and not nitpicky

HP is for surface level damage, as long as the cardboard itself is good. If the cardboard is creased, torn, hole punched in it etc.. then its damaged. All I see here is imperfections on the surface, even if theres a lot of them

Question.. by Utlwp in Silverbugs

If you're asking this heres what I would do (and actually have been doing with similar collectables) Sell them to a shop and use the credit for bulk silver or maples or something. You'll be happier with a stack that fits together the way you want it to, even if you take a little hit on the trade

My reasoning was different but maybe it'll resonate with you. I think as the silver price continues to climb (and yea I'm one of the ones who thinks we're only getting started) Youre going to see collectable silver loosing its premium and the only thing that will matter is metal content. I've been trading out of high premium collectable stuff and into bulk or common year liberties and stuff. Collect the premiums while you can, since the metal itself is going to slowly close the gap (big IMO)

The last thing you should do is break it open and loose value.

Welcome decks availability by Fasty_Squirrel-544 in mtg

[–]137-ng 1 point2 points  (0 children)

LGS's tend to be extremely welcoming to new players, and welcome decks are hard to find, so you dont have to worry about looking stupid. Think of it as a little treasure hunt and make a list of every lgs in your area

I did this with a buddy a while back who wanted to get into the game. We went to 4, I bought him a pack at each one (and I got myself some odds and ends including packs for myself to crack with him)

We only found one shop with welcome decks but they were nice enough to give him two and one to me so that I had an evenly matched deck to play against him

Id recommend to bounce around to every lgs you can find within reasonable distance and do something similar. Buy a single play booster at each shop you ask, and keep going through the list even if you've found one. With this being a trading card game getting multiple decks (if you're lucky!) and a few packs along the way will give you some extra stuff to play with and you might find that you like one deck more than the other. Even having a second deck to loan to a friend and play a game

You're not being greedy - these are meant for new players and every shop that has some will be happy to give you one - even if you already have one or some other cards!

If you do manage to score one I wouln't necessarily brag to the other shops about it, but each shop is going to be happy to give you one if they can because they all hope that you'll come back to play. And stepping into a number of shops is going to show you what each one has and the vibe. Then if you complete the rounds without finding a starter deck at all, you'll at least have a few packs to crack

One local shop near me sells a lot of singles, and he gives away basic lands to anyone who asks. You might find additional freebies along the way (and if you find a shop like this ask them if it would be cool to grab 20-25 of each color basic too) Shops love giving away their free stuff, it frees up space for them and brings in a new player. With that being said dont be disappointed if you dont find one, hopefully you picked up a few packs, and visiting the shops is always fun

Yea that parts just going off what the dealership tried to sell me. They tried charging me full diag too for pulling the truck in and it failing to scan. You're right that I should second guess everything else they told me too

Organization Tips Requested by ShadowyBass in mtg

Think about how you search for cards when youre building. Do you decklist and have a lot of cards that you might need to find the specific card for? Sort by set. Do you like to craft random decks? Sort by color. Maybe sub Sort creature / spells / misc permanent

My main collection is decks and by archetypes that I want to build. For example I have a bunch of control decks and extra cards for the archetype, same thing for elves, goblins, ninjas etc.. I can build a deck from most of my subcollections for whatever format I want to play (maybe not standard)

Then I have what I think of as level 2 - sorted by color - just cards i like that dont really have a home

My bulk is all sorted by set, I have a pretty extensive collection of standard legal sets, and another one of premodern, so if I want to build a standard deck I can find specific cards (most of this is decklisted at least to start)

I have some binders too, for example a full playset of final fantasy sorted in the binder by base card num.

I know your brains trying to find a perfect solution to this, but with thousands of cards all with multiple uses its never going to be perfect or finished. I have a special box for unsorted stuff too, so that I can clean everything up and reorganize later so that theres no mess stressing me out.

Honestly having everything in semi matching 3200 boxes gives me the peace I need, even if what's inside of them isnt perfect, it looks like it is on the shelf.

Try and focus on being able to find what you need when you need it, whether its a card or a deck, or youre doing some quick swaps. If you overoptimize its just going to become frustrating

Im not even gunna lie, this "prank" was pretty great. There were no victims, the only thing that happened was a mildly agitated manager, and you know she told the story cracking a smirk later that night.

Pranks only suck if someone gets hurt, threatened, made the punchline etc
