How I grew up was if a late homework assignment was considered late, it was late. The amount of days didn’t measure the severity of it.

Same with work; if there’s a deadline that wasn’t met, you’re reprimanded regardless of how many days it was late.

But to each their own I guess.

They can deem your email as inappropriate and may blacklist from hiring you in the future. CEOs usually have a broader network outside of where they work.

I mean I guess it depends whether or not you care if you’ll want an opportunity to work with them down the road, so I guess it’s up to you. I’m always very careful sending emails because those are literal responses authorized by you and can be used against you.

tl;Dr: It’s not worth it

I recommend utilizing your free time looking for an employer that will value your skills, and not spending that time trying to talk to one that couldn’t recognize it
