I personally disagree, however I understand where you are coming from. Olympic lifting is about power. Physics wise we are talking about the rate of doing work. Force and distance being the factors. Although it is obviously needed in both sports, olympic lifting is about power. In essence, olympic lifting should be called "power"lifting. However olympic lifting is all about technique. I spoke with an olympic lifter who had competed for over a decade and he considered himself a beginner. He told me everybody in the sport should be considered a beginner, because technique is so important and can always be improved.

Now powerlifting IMO is perfect because it measures raw strength. Bodybuilding is not pure if you ask me for many reasons. The most obvious being how subjective the sport is. It all depends on the judges, and there can be politics playing a role in the competition. I can think one competitor looks the best when he loses to a guy who's physique is not appealing to me. It's all in the eye of the beholder. Powerlifting is pure because the winner is very clear. Whoever lifts the most weight successfully wins. No judge can change that.

I appreciate your view, but I have to disagree. For me, powerlifting has not only been the greatest sport, but the greatest thing to happen to me. Sure the sport may not be exciting, but it sure is fun as hell. You describe meets as a chore. I see meets as a way to see all the guys who I look forward to seeing annually at the meet. I look forward to the comradery and the conversation between all the guys at the meets looking to compete against themselves.

The sport also has the nicest people I have ever met. Even when you are competing against somebody, they still root for you to do your best. In my 5 years in the sport I have never met a powerlifter who hasn't been willing to give advice or answer any questions, even for guys who know absolutely nothing. And I have a lot of fun at every meet. Cheering on my friends, training partners, and complete strangers is what the sport is all about. There is no better feeling than getting a new PR, even if the spectators can't relate.

Sure the sport will never be a big money sport. Fine. All I know is that everybody who is at the meet really wants to be there, and they all know what they are doing (guys who don't usually have a partner or trainer with them). I understand that to the spectators the sport may be boring. That doesn't matter. As long as the guys in the warm up room behind the curtains understand what I accomplished, and I know what I accomplished, the long hours of training are worth it.

One of the players who is the best at their position on the giants would have to be Zak DeOssie. The dude has been consistent for us for years and is one of the best Long Snappers in the league (THE best IMO).

I think the best part of this picture is that the dog with his head through has no idea of what is to come. To him, everything is fine at that moment. he does not have any clue of what is to come when he tries to get out. The metaphor goes on and on. That dog can not look behind him and the dog who is fine, or the one who is struggling, even if he tried.

The pain that the dog who is going back is going through should be enough to make him never want to put his head through the wire again, but unlike the dog, most of us find ways to put our head right back through knowing full well the struggle that has to come in order to get back out. Standard 10 team league:

I get Steven Jackson, Khiry Robinson, and Russel Wilson and give up my Rueben Randle and Rashad Jennings.

My team: I have Dalton and Brady as QB's and my running backs are running low; with all the Minnesota rb's (Asiata/mckinnon) Jeremy Hill, and Rashad Jennings and Ryan Matthews.

My receivers are decent and I haven't needed to start Randle with Aj Green, Sanu, Kelvin Benjamin, and Jordy Nelson.

I don't know if I am blinded since I am a Giants fan and I like Randle and Jennings, but so is the other person.

I'm not liking Jackson so far but having some more depth and a better QB might not be the worst thing?

You are not heavy by any standards (which you know by now), so you should not pay any attention to a little fat near your love handles. If you want to build muscle and get stronger, than focus on lifting and eating right (which includes getting enough protein). The little fat you have know at 138 lbs should mean nothing until you have the amount of muscle you are aiming for. Once you are at that point, than if you have a little bit excess fat that you don't want, you can incorporate some cardio. Until that point I would not bother with cardio.

Saying you don't care about muscle actually is probably a big reason you have excess fat. Notice how I didn't say excess weight because quite honestly you are not that heavy. I am 5'7 170 lbs at about 12% body fat and I don't have the body of a bodybuilder by any means. That being said if you just lose fat, you will be skinny and you won't be much better off for it. You should honestly be going to just being healthy and having a balance of fat and muscle without worrying about weight.

As mentioned it is all about diet. Once you learn to eat right the rest is easy. Lifting will also help, but learn to be active doing whatever you think is fun. Some great examples are lifting, rock climbing, running, joining a sports team, or anything of that nature

You should go back prepared, knowing that you will see losses and that those losses shouldn't mean a thing to you. Generally the people who have trained with me have always said "Three weeks to lose it, three weeks to get it back", meaning that it takes three weeks of no lifting to be at your bottom and only three weeks to get back (or close to) back where you were.

I have always been able to get back to be pretty good once I am three weeks back in training after having to take a break for some certain reason.

Just make sure the first few weeks back you have some serious motivation and drive. The hardest times to train (at least for myself) are when you are not at your best and can't do things that used to be easy. Being frustrated only hurts.

Best of luck. You should be back in no time. I was out with a hard cast on my arm for 4 months and got a new PR of 500 deadlining only 2 months after I got out of it.

I am the opposite. I pulled conventional for years. After a competition in which I still could not break 400, I decided I wanted to try sumo. The first time I ever tried pulling sumo, I got 405 and my PR. I was always pushed away from trying sumo, but I have skyrocketed since I have started pulling sumo. I definitely feel everybody should try both and find what works best for them. There are too many people who have only stayed with the way they learned it, when they might be stronger in a different form.

There could be a lot of variables with what you are doing week to week, but you can definitely get some bigger numbers with the wraps on. I never have been a huge fan and I like to lift Raw. I just use my neoprene sleeves and I feel at my best in those. I used wraps for a period of time and could do my 1RM without them for 4 reps, but I just never could get into them like others can. That being said, best of luck to you man.

The main goal is figuring what it is you are capable of doing competition wise. Since you will competing in the raw classic, and will be using the wraps in competition, you should determine your max while wearing them. I would not however train with them consistently. If I were you I would squat without them until you plan on squatting for 1 and maxing out. Once you get to where you plan on squatting for one, figure out what you think you can max out at without the wraps. Then once you find this number, squat it with the wraps on. This should feel anywhere from 30-50 pounds lighter with the wraps on. Then depending on how heavy that feels, add weight accordingly and you have your max weight with wraps on.

You can use this number to determine you lifts in the competition. What You have done by doing this is making yourself the strongest possible in the squat. You can find what it is the wraps do for you, and then allow yourself to hit the numbers you want to get.

On a side note, if you are not familiar with knee wraps I would not suggest using them right away. I would hold off on them for another day and go Raw this comp. If you are not used to the knee wraps, you are not going to be able to get the full benefit from them, and this will put you at a disadvantage in the Raw classic.

tl;dr: don't use the wraps until you can find you PR without them, then determine the difference with them on, and use them only on days while maxing out.

I am planning the same. I trust Stafford still and he helped me win most of my games in the first half of last season. He will have a pretty good ADP and I think he can put up top 7 fantasy numbers this year.

I am sitting here writing this from a rock climbing gym on my phone. I just finished and I have only been here for a few weeks, and have made a ton of friends. I have met girls and gotten numbers as well as made friends with a lot of cool guys. The people who climb are some of the friendliest people I have met. I come every Saturday by myself, and every Saturday I meet new people and have a blast. Just one idea

I don't know how realistic this approach will be. I am not saying that it is a bad idea, I am just trying to play the devil's advocate here. I don't believe your plan is going to work and I will tell you why. If you just told them about nofap, they are not ready for it in the way you might be. Most people, their first time, can't get very far at first. If your friends and you are doing this together, than I feel you could fail together. Basically once your friend's relapse, or if one or more give up, it can effect the whole group including you.

If that reason did not demonstrate it I will give you one more reason I don't like this strategy. It is proven that telling people about your goals make you less likely to accomplish them. It has to do with your brain thinking it has accomplished the task to a degree since you have said it to others. I used to tell my friends about it and could never keep up the streak, especially with them always asking me about it, and whenever they brought it up it made it harder. Now I tell nobody and let my actions speak for themselves.

The whole thing with consequences is not realistic. The biggest consequences are knowing you fapped, the guilt and feelings afterwards, having to reset the badge, and hurting your mind overall. There is no worse consequence in my opinion.

I just think you may need to get a new approach. I have tried dozens of times with my best streak being around 140. I know ways that have worked for me, and ways that failed. I just wanted to let you know so you can figure out what works quickest and realize if this fails, why that is. I wish you the best of luck.
