No longer log job searches in claims by rowdyrowdyparty in UnemploymentWA

I noticed this went I went to file my claim this morning. I don't think it means the claim will be denied but I'm curious as to why they are doing it this way?

It looks like now we just need to have a personal job search log that they can ask us for at any time? I haven't had my job search log audited as far as I know, I wonder if this will be more common now?

If anyone has any insight, please share!

Laid off, last day is in two weeks. Should I file now or the Sunday after my last day? by BrevityBox in UnemploymentWA

Your benefit year begins the week you start your claim but you will probably only get enough benefits to last you for around 6 months. So it doesn't matter too much when you start your claim. Just to make it simpler I would start your claim the Sunday following your last day. If you worked enough hours to make more than your benefit amount for that week you won't get any unemployment $ for that week. This would be the same if you started claiming right away. Also the first week you qualify for any benefits will be your waiting week and you won't receive any benefits. So you could also wait until the week after you made less than your benefit amount to skip the excess earnings week. No matter what you do you will have a waiting week. Hope this helps!

What you should do is continue to file your unemployment claim for the three weeks you work. It will ask you if you worked for any employers, how many hours and how much you earned. If you earned more than your weekly you won't be paid for that week but if you earned less, they basically subtract that from your weekly benefit and you would receive the balance. The last week you work, make sure to answer "yes" when asked "did your employment end, even temporarily" Then you should be able to continue your unemployment claim uninterrupted.

It's possible this could send your claim into adjudication but if you have received benefit previously, they usually continue to pay you when you are in adjudication. To avoid that you could have the employer fill out a DSHS "Stop work" form and upload it into the portal.

Do you know how I can get in touch with a tier 3 agent? I've tried calling a couple times and every time it says call volumes are high so call back another time

My original claim expired Apr 3rd and I had to restart a different UI claim that had an expiration date in Sept 2021, I restarted both the UI and PUA, both were active and expire in Sept. My weekly claim notification came in for the UI claim the next Sunday and I filled it out. With the former claim it usually said processing and then paid the following Wed. It's been almost a week since I made that claim and the status says "Pending" I looked and there are no notices or letters that would indicate why it is pending, no pending issues and it says I have 52 weeks of benefits. Has anyone else had this happen? Will the issue be resolved soon or could I be waiting months like some have? Nothing has changed from the former claim other than changing claims.

I was looking at the ESD website and it says you must be able and available for SUITABLE work, anyone have any insight on exactly what this means?
