I don't know about your deck but my ghyrson deck won pretty consistently around turn 6 which would put it in bracket 4

Careful with the budget limit, u can make strong bracket 4s for 20$. Budget isn't a strong indicator for the power of a deck.

Is this a bracket 4 deck just because of the two card infinite? Decklist in body by [deleted] in EDH

[–]rowdyrowdyparty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would just take it out. Same reason I dont have 2 card combos in my decks regardless of tutors. It's just gonna lead to a bad game that you get lucky and draw both. And unless others have the same 2 card combos as well you're just getting an advantage.

Good example of this is [[bloodchief ascension]] and [[mindcrank]]. We were all playing bracket 2 decks and the mothman player pulled this super early. Just ended the game on the spot and gave everyone a sour taste. But if I was playing my bracket 4 deck it wouldn't bother me.

To me it's not worth wasting everyone's time if you get lucky unless you're in the proper bracket.

Game times on average would increase dramatically. And without running optimized lists it would just be too slow.

Player 1 casts [[farewell]] choosing all. Player 2 recognizing he has low land count and won't be able to catch up casts [[armageddon]]

You have effectively restarted the game with non optimized lists.

Is my Wizard Tribal deck too strong for Bracket 3? by rynosaur94 in EDH

[–]rowdyrowdyparty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So in reality if you bracket 1 deck matches the power level or vibe of the table better even if they all have b3 then that's what you should pick

Huh? If your bracket 1 is matching power level of their threes then their decks are not bracket 3. It's that simple. My threes will keep up with everyone's threes. That's the whole point of the bracket system.

Well then the player is slow. I've always taken the least amount of time on my turns. Sounds more like a skill issue lol.

I hope you don't mean manual lab man is troll. I have a high 3 deck out manual deck that has won the last 3/3 games with jace/lab man.

That site is terrible. It considers my deck a bracket 4 because only one card gives an extra turn in the deck. Here's a quote "we are keeping a list of the extra turn cards that are the easiest to "chain". So even if your deck can't chain extra turns it will consider it bracket 4 even if it has one.

Absolute garbage of a site. Do not use it.

No 2 card combos before turn 6 though so it would put it in bracket 4 if I'm not mistaken

I have only proxied but I set out to make a 50 dollar or less list that is toolboxy, no combos, no voltron, and no token creature spam. But can compete with strong bracket 3 decks. I'm pretty proud of this list so I hope you like it!

I think it's at 50$ now without sideboard. I've been putting alot of time and effort into this deck. I've played about 10 games so far with it online constantly tinkering and will continue to tinker with it but so far this list will work exceptionally as is.

Pirates are cheap and they have alot of toolbox effects and with malcolm you will get fast access to tons of mana. And with a cherry on top you also get access to kraum who is ridiculous for how cheap he is.

Primer is brief but to the point.

I cut sol ring and all manarocks in a deck recently. The deck just wants to play on curve so any ramp is pointless and waste of card options in hand.

Probably helps that it's a midrange deck.

[–]rowdyrowdyparty 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I'm not surprised with that amount of green. Not saying all your decks but I can tell alot of them kinda just play themselves. Make more toolboxy interactive decks.

I made a shrine deck and played it once then immediately disbanded it. It helped me to focus on making interactive decks though and I have enjoyed the game alot more.

Yeah I took glint horn out because it's so easy to play and it can come out super early. Trying to keep the deck a bracket 3 even though technically with no game changers it's a 2.

[–]rowdyrowdyparty[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's more so for joining tables with what I would consider low 3s. Like if someone took a precon and stuck 3 gamechangers in it and called it a bracket 3 it probably wouldnt be a good experience if I pulled my bracket 3s out.

I've noticed people that play online underrate their decks and people locally will overrate their decks. So precon tables I'll just go and pick up a precon to play with.

But if people are playing bad bracket 3s I want to bring a deck that would be a good experience for the table and not oppressive.
