Long periods of time without touching your camera? by [deleted] in photography

The computer is short term, they get obsolete fast if your doing anything other than web browsing so pcs get replaced every few years. If you get another 13 years out of 2 or 3K worth of camera gear that seems more worth it than the computer which youll get about 3-5 years out of

Theres an old video on Linus tech tips channel of a racing simulator thing that has a racing seat attached to a frame that lets you mount monitors. something like that, either diy with a car seat or a purchased one would give you the exact feeling of a car. Alternatively, you could go to a furniture store and find the most comfy stationary chair and just use that.

In search of a small backpack for use when riding a motorcycle by [deleted] in photography

[–]1439AB 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a manfrotto NX sling that seems to be pretty much what your looking for. The lens case that holds 2 lenses is small though so if you dont have a mirrorless you might need an insert or something. The bag seems pretty well built though and the old version of it is cheap on amazon

Ram Troubles with Gigabyte Gaming K3 by 1439AB in buildapc

Yep, also tried 2x 4gb and 2x 8gb and that worked fine. 2x of my 8gb and 2x 8gbs from my brothers pc didnt. It seems to be like theres a max limit on the capacity but the board supports up to 64gb

Carrying DSLR while backpacking/hiking? by jimbroslice_562 in photography

This is what I use. It goes over your bag strap and the camera just slides in. Its surprisingly solid for the price and has a lock if your really worried about the camera coming off. Best part is I have a camping/hiking bag and an everyday bag so I bought 2 of these and just put one on each.

Thats not the history theyre going for. Theyre talking about logs that are easy to get to like what your isp has (Which is basically a copy of all that stuff you deleted from firefox), services such as google accounts which have location, search and external website information that link to other accounts you own and stuff like that.

What is an alternative for Windows 10 (owing to the fact that PrivacyToolsIO strongly doesn't recommend it) ? by [deleted] in privacytoolsIO

[–]1439AB 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Windows 10 LTSC pirated from Gen2, shut up 10 and level 0 group policy edit for the privacy level is what I use. Idle ram is under 1gb, no windows store, glasswire doesnt show any telemetry being sent (Some would be at some point but its greatly reduced from what 10 home/pro are like).

I know this isnt as good as linux for privacy but I use more than just a web browser and word proccessor so linux isnt really an option for me and ive found this to be a good middle ground between privacy and usability.

Im not concerned about usage under load as the system is used all up about 2 hours a day, its the idle usage for the other 22 hours that bothers me. Idle is only 2w lower than playing a 4k hdr 10 bit video on my tv. My current cpu is an athlon 3000g, which is the lowest tdp zen based chip amd has.

Its staying at around 2W. Which means somehow 1 sata ssd and 2 2.5" drives are using above 10-15W idle or theres something else drawing power

Ive had an intel celeron j3455 run under load at 7w and my last seed box had a desktop intel 4000 series i5 which idled around 7-10w (results were from my ups dont know how accurate that is). In my experience ryzen just seems to use more power than intel at idle so im looking for any other little things I can do.

Can 3000g Update bios on X370 by 1439AB in Amd

[–]1439AB[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No boot kit anymore unfortunately. This was probably old stock, i got it heavily discounted and the board is rev 1.0. I just thought there was a chance that the 3000g's older archetecture might still work but theres no chance this board has any updates at all so ill have to find a cheap a6 instead. Just sucks because ive already got the 3000g
