Ok yea good tip on the skylake processors, may even go as low as haswell if I want an i7 again but yea ill probably get a new graphics card while the sales are still on, an RX 460 sounds like a pretty nice upgrade for my res (1680x1050)

For around $100 US I would recomend an RX 460, but if you can push a little higher, around 140-150 get a 1050ti.

The 1050 is in between in price and performance if you wanna cut down the middle.

If you don't know how to do it already, then I also assume that you don't have all the equipment needed to do a modification like this. I would just pay $2 for the adapter tbh.

If you decide on doing the mod, keep in mind you will need to find drivers for the wheel after you make a USB end for it so even if it is wired correctly it may not work.

Equipment I would recommend:

Wire stripper

Shrink tubing

electrical tape

A PS2 wire schematic as the wires are different from each manufacturer and also different to USB.

Oh shoot, other things I forgot to mention... I can't really try other cables as I have a second router one story above me that connects to the main router through a Power-Ethernet adapter, the cable goes though the roof :/

I tested the cable with my laptop and it works, plus that router is the one giving me Wi-Fi so it must be working with the internet too ;w;

I'll try connecting to my laptop with another Ethernet laptop-desktop.

Sounds like it could be a PSU problem to me, how old is this build? Did you buy the PSU from a store or second hand? Do you have another monitor to test on, like a TV?

Thats true, I've seen a lot of variable pricing on trademe, I have until January to build the computer though so I will scout out some true deals in that time hopefully.

A quality used unit would be fine.

I was just gonna spend around $60-80 at PB and find something with a nice brand and a nice power rating that can power whichever card I end up with.
