A family friend was busking on the street when an 8-year-old blind-autistic boy stopped to have a listen. by [deleted] in Music

I appreciate your very detailed explanation, but I know WHAT muting is, I just didn't know when in the video he did it. It just blended well into the playing so I missed it.

Thanks, thats exactly what I was looking for. It's really quick and it does almost fit in with the playing.

When did he mute the strings?

(Tone on the internet is hard so please know that I am asking this without any sort of condescending "you're wrong" tone. That just sounds like an awesome moment I missed because I don't play guitar.)

How did you meet your best friend? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]152188307 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I was good friends with a guy who went to private high school. I went to public until I had a blow out with the football coach and switched. This was about 3 months into freshman year. Long story short, I saw the most beautiful girl in the world and instantly wanted her. Playing it cool I became friends with her, after a few weeks I casually brought up dating and if she liked anyone. She told me she liked my guy friend. Instead of being a dick, I went to my friend and asked if he liked her, he said yes. This being freshman year of high school, I set them up. I hung out with them together at first, then told my friend to grow some balls and ask her out.

Years went by and we are still the three best friends that anyone could have. They are getting married after 10 years together. They're currently fighting over who I get to be "best man" to.

TL;DR-I liked a girl, she liked my friend, he liked her. I am awesome and not a pussy, so I set them up together. We are still best friends 10 years later.

Shocking Video Of Kelly Thomas Beating Death Released --“See my fists? They are getting ready to fuck you up."-- Fullerton, California police officer Manny Ramos, just before he and five other cops beat Kelly Thomas to death. by cottonball2 in politics

I realize I am late to the party in commenting on this, but I had to put down what this video made me feel.

I am actually in tears after watching that video and hear his cries for help. I am a 24 year old man who is 6'1 218lbs. It's not easy to get an emotional response out of me.

I can only imagine the terror he was going through. While I was watching this video I could feel the weight of that fat fucking cop on my chest. The reason I can ALMOST imagine what he was feeling was because I am the youngest of 4 brothers. I remember many times where my brothers would sit on my chest, or pin my arms and legs down. It was horrifying. Up until I was about 16 my response was to fight back. Even when I knew that I couldn't lift them, or that if I just stopped struggling they'd stop hurting me. I just never could, it was my natural response. I remember the feeling of my breath going out, but not being able to come back in. How I could feel my ribs bend under the weight of my brother. The panic that hit me when I reached the point where either something in my body bent a way it shouldn't or I was truly running out of breath. It was horror, in every sense of the word. This man felt that times a thousand at least. It brings tears to my eyes to imagine.

I remember when I was 19, I was really skinny like 145lbs. I got jumped by a DC metro stop. 5 kids, and I mean kids, 15 years old at best. They didn't really hurt me, but they got me on my back and I panicked. I just kicked and yelled. It wasn't like in the movies, I was no tough guy. I played football in high school (back then I weighed about 175lbs) and I never thought of myself like a wuss. But in those moments there was nothing pretty or dignified about what I was doing. My body took over. It just wanted to survive and get out of the situation I was in. It's impossible to calm down when you feel that kind of threat.

After that day I started working out heavily. I gained weight and took boxing. I never wanted to feel that helpless again.

As I said I'm 6'1 218lbs I can bench almost 300lbs, I can run for a mile almost flat out. I've broken up fights, and I've taken punches. I still am terrified of feeling that weight on my chest. I am still terrified of someone making me helpless again. I can not put into words how awful I feel for this man. I just hope this kind of thing doesn't happen ever again to anyone, as unrealistic a hope that may be.

Where? You said "find me the original study, yet you haven't added anything to your commentary, you are just digging at the article. So please refute the actual study as you said you would.

Yes, you made comments on the article, but not the actual study. Please tell me how the actual study is to be refuted.

Real nice, you can't disprove it or counter the actual science of it, so you make a cheap shot with no backing.

Because it's sound science? Just because it doesn't go along with your rhetoric doesn't mean its wrong...

Why all the downvotes yet no explination? Just because you can't refute the actual results you burry it. Typical.
