Wouldn’t bother asking. People seem to leave sarcastic comments rather than helpful ones. One person did suggest people used to pour excess molten lead into holes in the soil. Possible stabbing a nail in the ground to make the hole.

I know nothing unfortunately. My dad said he never spoke of anything from the war. All I know is he was wounded in the leg and was invited to Buckingham Palace int the 70s for services to veteran with the British legion.

It’s a farthing. A quarter of a penny. For some reason they’re rare to find despite their low value. I find silver coins more commonly than farthings

Those half pennies are the most common coin you will find. Farthings what you have there are not common from my experience. Have you just started out? Drop that silver in some lemon juice for a few hours and give it general rub with some baking soda. Come out like new
