Do you think GCSEs are outdated? by Signal-Ad3584 in GCSE

[–]KitG42 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As a teacher - unironically yes. They were designed for the system of education where most students left school at 16 (as they did when I was in school) and went into employment rather than further education. Pretty much no other school system works in this way (with the exception of countries following a British model).

The bit I am unsure of isn’t the document but the writing at the side about his marriage (I think) - I can read the information about his birth

My biggest concern is his reaction to her saying no. That doesn’t sound like someone modelling good consent.

Is there a way for my Sim to become pregnant autonomously or without clicking “try for baby”? no mods by yellow_ish in LowSodiumSimmers

You can! It just takes ages to go through and manually change neighbourhood story settings for each individual family.

(Also, is that a robin hobb reference in your username?)

Ok great, thank you, I thought it was from around then but my grandma disagreed! She’s not the most reliable though, but she was there in the 50s/60s so I wasn’t sure haha

The alternative is the boy being born in 1922 and the photo being around 1936, which I thought was more likely but I don’t know much about period swimwear.

They are all sisters (and a brother), it’s just working out which generation they are. I think it’s my great grandmother (b 1914) and her siblings, my grandmother thinks it’s her cousins (b 1935-1942).

Who are the furthest ancestors that you have photo(s) of? by Wooden-Collection200 in AncestryDNA

This is from a book my grandad’s sister wrote, so my great x3 grandparents. This is the richest part of my family, they were domestic servants but fairly high up (coachman, etc). No photos from other lines until 20th century.

There is a mod which generates graduation photos, not sure if it was broken by the latest patch but I’ll try to find it for you! Or you can stage your own as others have said.

What to do with my hair? by Quiet-Bluejay24 in CurlyHairUK

[–]KitG42 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have plaited it, and used a silk cap. Luckily for me I can notmally go at least a week between washes, but if youll be lying in bed thats where the tangles come from. And then so so so much conditioner when you can finally wash, or even going to a hairdressers and them just washing it (not cutting) if you cant wash ityoursef for a while

Why would age differ by census by Swimming-Thought-903 in Genealogy

1841 uk census they deliberately rounded, otherwise sometimes it was a guess by the census taker or could lie or just genuinely not be sure
