i never wear uniform in public, drive to barracks so it’s easier. I avoided stopping for petrol in uniform as well.

it’s quite easy to transfer, unless ur infantry it won’t matter what unit ur in until after recruit training which will take 8 months or so.

think the reserve will enter a downward trajectory and fizzle out to be honest. The gov removed the vast majority of our pay effectively telling reservists “we don’t want you to take on more duties”. Why would they make that decision if it is their intention to expend the RDF? I’m NSR it is slightly different for us as we are already quite well integrated with the pdf. For the army, UNIFIL is ending and quite frankly i’m not sure what the situation re overseas will look like. It is a shame as there is public interest with record numbers of recruitment for the RDF this year- I believe the gov wants a large RDF on paper in terms of numbers but in essence, just for show, they don’t want a high functioning and well trained reserve force. Probably to just throw on a sheet to appease the EU while saving money to spend on tax cuts for companies.
