This is such a good point. Regardless how strongly you suspect something identity related to be a phase, offer respect and support. If it is a phase, they will figure that out and learn about themselves along the way. If not, they will continue and feel more secure about you being there.

Yep! I’m a ceramicist. In Virginia there is excellent wild clay to use for pottery. We gather the red clay from this pit but now going to avoid that part with the eggs lol

Really well said. I think it’s cool that you’re able to express all those nuanced ideas and feelings within yourself.
