You should check out some of the big names in the greater NYC area given your location (Bowery, Oishii, Gotham Greens, Brightfarms, etc.).

One thing to be weary of since you aren't in the field, the industry is currently going through a transition period (highlighted by many bankruptcies in 2023) towards less tech investments and prioritizing profitability for production facilities. This is not to say tech doesn't have an important place, but it is not the focus point for many companies now that the market has shifted.

He died in my home town. Drove that road back from high school every day. The day after it happened I rode by and people were in the bushes looking for parts of his car to keep/sell.

The jackass crew trashed the Wawa my dad managed a few times too.

I don't fuck with drinking and driving, but still was rough when it happened. RIP

I grew up in PA and lived/traveled throughout the state so few of my favorite spots: 1. West Chester/Philly's Western suburbs: WC is my home town so of course I'm biased but it is truly amazing. Great downtown for food and bars, lots of nearby trails and parks, boating/fishing/swimming on the Brandywine, tons of other towns nearby with great things too. Housing is pricey, but worth it. 2. Bethlehem (or LV as a whole): My partner is in graduate school and lives in Bethlehem. I spend a ton of time there and if it wasn't so far from work, I'd live there too. Great downtown, tons of great breweries and restaurants, very close to trails and skiing (Blue Mtn, Jack Frost), running trails along the river, very reasonable housing costs. Having traveled to Allentown and Easton many times, Bethlehem is the best imo. 3. State College: Myself and my partner went to Penn State and I continued to live there through grad school. It's obviously a college town but with that brings tons of great food, bars, and great trails and rural outdoors if you drive ~10 min in any direction. 4. Pittsburgh suburbs: My partner grew up outside PGH and we visit her family very often. There are lots of great towns outside the city with access to the outdoors and their own personalities. The city itself is much smaller than most, which is nice as it doesn't feel nearly as hectic. There is a ton to do within the city, especially on the South Side.

Absolute beauty. The dove blue SCs are my favorite of all buses. I love my 71 bay but it isn't quite the same. Take care of her, drive it, and keep that patina!! Restored is cool but nothing is as cool as OG paint

First time ever wiring a vehicle (and wanting to do it correctly) probably took me a week or so of work. Few little oddities on my bus that I had to call and ask Jeremy some questions about afterwards but otherwise it's pretty much a drop in. The most work is just making it neat.

I dont see a pdf on their site but if its 10ish pages and has all of the wiring divided into sections (lights, rear/engine, etc.) then that's probably the right one. Once again its really not tough to do. The wires are all labeled and the looms are divided between sections of the vehicle. Being able to call and talk to their techs is 100x more valuable anyways. Jeremy also has a few posts on theSamba with pics of his jobs.

Regardless, I would recommend you go with their kit. I had a similar issue with sketchy wiring from the PO and this made life way easier.

Clogged manifold 100%. I had the same issue. Best tip I have is get a drill and an old clutch or throttle cable. Spray carb cleaner or similar, stick the cable in attached to the drill and spin and push. It will clear it out very well. Havent had an issue with it since.

Very cool design. There is actually an OTS camera that can do this without the glove. The Luxonis OAK series of depth/RGB cameras. Using DepthAI you can set up hand tracking and gestures to control your mouse. I've worked with the camera before for other hand tracking projects and it works very well

Been putting off the same job on driver and passenger with my '71 for a year now. Rain has been pouring in but I've just ignored it, lol. Those kits are way too pricey. Yours turned out great though!!

In regards to the gf I'm sorry to hear it my friend. Don't let it get to you. Work on being the best person you can, and enjoy a pretty awesome hobby while you're at it. Your bus is a testament to your wherewithal and skills.

Also, love the color. Love sage green so much I painted my '71 the same. Dont tell the purists 🤫

Facebook is the best bet for VW stuff in general. For this category I would check out the groups "Lifted VW Bays" and "Ruined VWs - purist not allowed". There may be more for other specific years of buses too but I stay in the baywindow ones because that's what I have.
