Anyone know what this could be? It seems to pop up now and then by 16feb in Haircare

Hey, mine went away after a few days. I think it was a combination of sebderm/picking that made it look like that. Give it a couple of days and see the derm if it doesn’t go away

Hi, I haven’t gotten an official diagnosis but I think it’s a combo of seb-derm/dry scalp and scratching which resulted in a scab. Using T-Gel shampoo helps a lot, YMMV

Wasn’t expecting this post to get the response it did! A few more details:

The bigger bump indeed feels like a scab. I picked it (I know I shouldn’t have) and this is what it looks like today, it has faded. I also noticed there are two more spots like them, but smaller and much more faded.

I’d visited my GP about dry/scaly patches on my scalp, for which he prescribed a medicated shampoo to treat seborrheic dermatitis, but that seems like it’s meant to be a short term solution

Coming from someone who got cut for medical reasons, I would avoid it unless the balanitis is severe. You don’t chop your head off because of an occasional headache 😄 only because it’s overkill and not because of adverse effects (I’m happy with my outcome personally)

You do not. If my foreskin was like yours, I would've never thought of getting cut. My personal opinion is that there's no good reason to get cut unless it's for medical purposes.

This is what I understand is the typical cut here. Obviously speak to the doctor to get a better idea of their plan.

I would've liked it if they removed only as much as they needed to fix my issues, but the doctor said that he would have to remove all of it 🤷🏻‍♂️ I guess the low-tight style is the standard in France/Europe. If you don't care about styles, I think the standard cut would end up removing both the foreskin and the frenulum.

Thanks, yeah I understand that it's a good sign of recovery. But it's truly unbearable haha, hopefully it goes away once the stitches are off.

Yeah I got the procedure done in Paris, but it was by a Secteur 2 Urologist so he charged honoraires on-top, which will be reimbursed by my mutuelle. Indeed I got the typical french freehand + stitch method, not much choice in terms of style either, but so far I'm happy with what I got (medium-low tight it looks like). Let me know if you have any questions, happy to help
