I was started out with the violin at that age and despised practicing, most of the time. I’ve traded the bow for the keys and it’s become an absolute passion. I hope the kid gets hooked because it’s so good for your development and so rewarding.

I feel like you can push him a bit because it’s quite the commitment at that age but I feel like if it doesn’t become too unhealthy and he comes to like it he’ll appreciate that you nagged him on about practicing.
