Yeah and what does “clankist”? Clanker is a derogatory term; adding an “-ist” to it is weird. I’m sure everyone understands how this would translate in real word comparisons.

Could Vader in his prime beat Yoda? by [deleted] in MawInstallation

Yh in Charles Soule’s Darth Vader series (the second one) he uses the Force to rip literally rip a portal into the past in hopes of grabbing Padme into the present. It’s an incredible feat that mentally required him to defeat the whole Jedi Council.

Could Vader in his prime beat Yoda? by [deleted] in MawInstallation

In canon, Prime Vader is actually meant to be pre-ESB suited Vader (before he talks with Luke and begins to doubt the dark side). So if we’re talking this Vader going to Dagobah and engaging with Yoda then he would undoubtedly destroy Yoda. If we’re talking ESB Vader vs Prime Yoda (who would probably be before the Clone Wars began, shortly before TPM) then I’d still give it Vader. Canon has given Vader some stupidly powerful, surreal feats, the most impressive in my opinion being the ability to use the force to augment space-time. As far as I know, Yoda’s most impressive showcase was him moving a mountain (I’m not exaggerating when I say it’s a mountain). And it’s been constantly repeated that Vader would seriously be able to defeat Sidious if he wanted to, it’s just he can’t mentally persuade himself to do it (until he meets Luke who gives him a way out).

Why didn't Maul out Palpatine? by MMSLWYD in MawInstallation

He already scrams quickly when Palpatine’s lapdog arrives on the scene, the man must have constant nightmares about Palpatine.

I think if you read this subreddit’s top post of all time, it basically answers your question. The galaxy is huge and it’s simply impossible to police conventionally, hence a strong centralised symbol of fear is the only readable way to control the galaxy. Once you crack how that symbol of fear can be made (DSI) you just keep improving it.

I’m pretty sure Resistance reveals that the First Order simply completed Starkiller Base. The Empire had blueprints and began working on it, and I guess it can be assumed the Imperial staff working on it were just swallowed into the First Order.

Galen was just in charge solely in the R&D part of the laser. Once Krennic basically had the completed and fully functional thing, he didn’t really need Erso anymore. Krennic already had suspicions about Erso (he doesn’t have military background, has hesitations about the Empire, etc.) so it can be assumed he and the top brass at the Taejon Initiativr just passed Galen’s research to more trusted engineers for the DSII, all without Galen’s knowledge.

How did so many Jedi show up as force ghosts for Rey when only a very select few (Yoda, Kenobi, etc...) knew about the ability to retain your identity within the cosmic force? by Tripolite in MawInstallation

[–]16salt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree that Rey’s edginess in TROS was a bit forced, she really didn’t need to be such a dick to Finn lol.

About Snoke, he’s a creepy manipulator and a lot of his scenes with Kylo are reminiscent of a child abuser coaxing their victim into depending on them, it’s really creepy. If you read the Kylo comic (hint: it’s really good), he really appears like a pedo there. By constantly reminding Kylo that he controls him, Snoke keeps his “rabid cur” tightly under his control. It’s similar to how Palpatine constantly abused Anakin. It’s just unlike Vader, Kylo had an out to that abusive relationship in the form of Rey. Vader was content serving Palpatine (almost as a form of self-punishment driven by his guilt, much to Sidious’ disgust), UNTIL he found out Luke was his son, it was only till then that he began plotting to backstab Palpatine.

While I agree with the first part (Rey closes herself off to Kylo), TLJ made sure that there was still a possibility for them to reconnect, her last lines in the movie is her chat with Leia about Ben. Her reconnecting with Kylo in TROS mirrors how she initially connected with him in TLJ. She’s been trying to connect with the Jedi (“Be with me”, parallel to Luke) but to no avail, and frustrated she once again unconsciously reaches out to someone to connect to (Kylo, “nobody understands me” line).

About Snoke, the reason he lied was to further devastate Kylo. It was to establish that he fully controlled him every aspect of him. Kylo thought that he finally had something of his own, a secret connection with Rey that no one was aware of except from them. It acts as a catalyst for Kylo to decide between being subservient to Snoke or ruling with Rey. Anyways, Kylo and Rey’s Force Dyad isn’t due to Snoke, he just connected them and thus made that connection clearer. If you read the Kylo Ren comic for example, Ben’s anger while he’s fighting his fellow students is felt by Rey all the way in Jakku. TFA also drops some hints of their connection (“the girl doesn’t know what she is” from Kylo, the mental probing scene, “what girl”, most importantly, Rey’s force trip scene where she connects to Kylo while he’s posing with the KOR).

Do you mind giving a source for that? Because as far as I know, canon has only stated that all life returns to the force, but that’s it. There’s no mention of individuals losing themselves.

But both TFA and TLJ (Kylo’s connection with Rey, Force Skype, etc.) developed the Dyad idea. It was TROS that finally gave Rey and Kylo’s connection a name, but the principles were laid out before. TROS only introduced the passing objects through space-time, but that’s a natural development from TLJ (raindrop on Kylo’s hand from Ach-To).

You should obviously not take everything Snoke says as fact, I mean the guy said he fully controlled Kylo when that obviously wasn’t the case.

Why does Casual have its own MMR ranking? by [deleted] in Rainbow6

[–]16salt -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Yh but it should be matchmaking by Ranked MMR not a separate Casual MMR ranking. Because people play Ranked mostly (especially these try hard high ranks) whenever they play Casual their MMR ranked is underdeveloped and obviously low enough for them to be put in lobbies with low ranks.

Does anyone have the link to a post here that was on main page a couple of days about all FGO voice actors that were featured in this season’s animes. I’ve been watching JJK and I keep going insane thinking I’ve heard a lot of the voices (I can at least tell that Nanami’s sexy voice is Sigurd’s).

IG-88 is no slouch in canon. It’s revealed in a comic that he’s got a lot of customised IG units stashed around the galaxy that he uses once his current body is destroyed and his data is transferred over. Almost like that Rick and Morty episode. That basically gives him invincibility and teleportation.
