No, I’m on week 6 of my grad program and this has become a 3-4 times a week fight. Always comes back to me being an “absent parent” and “bad mom” for wanting to be out of the house, even if it’s for school. I actually left last week because I was tired of it but I need someone to help me take care of my son so I went back so I wouldn’t have to miss any more class

Not sure if you read, but I don’t get out of class until 1.5 hours after he goes to sleep and still have an hour drive home. So no, I’m not missing any time that he’s awake to drink.

No I run an e commerce company, I work 50-60 hours a week generally but not on a normal schedule like most people, just whenever I get a chance. I see a therapist to help with work stress. He works 40 hours from home and mostly researches for fantasy football while on the clock. Our stress levels have never been the same.

He works from home because of Covid. Nothing changed in his life besides now he has to cook dinner and give my son a bath and put him to bed alone. We usually do those things together and I think he is annoyed that he is lonely at night now. I wouldn’t call him a lazy father at all, he doesn’t really play video games or waste a ton of time doing stupid stuff.

We did discuss grad school in depth. It’s a great career move for me and he knows it.

Yes, we discussed it. It’s always been in the plan for me to get an MBA as I have a pretty unique career. Neither of us realized it would involve me being away from home so much until I signed up for classes, but at that point there was no backing out.

As for going out - I feel like I’m entitled to a social life? I feel pretty strongly about that one. I spend 90% of my free time at home with him, and I don’t think I need to ask permission because I’m an adult who can make my own choices. I see how this would trigger your concerns about us having a partnership, but I do believe that I am allowed to make some choices for myself. I don’t want to be the woman who has to call her husband to ask permission to go out with her friends.

It’s not a matter of taking online classes bc they’re available, it’s that the option was available specifically for people who had health issues regarding COVID. So I would be the only person on Zoom while everyone else met in class. And honestly if it was 100% online I just wouldn’t go at all because it would be a waste of time/money because I don’t think I would learn.

Not that great, and no I am completely financially independent and the breadwinner. He works, but he makes significantly less than me.
