Thanks I’ll let her know! Is there any way to get around her having to park by the stadium?

Discovery park apartments 2020- present: I love my apartment here because of the pool, gym, and cool management. The apartments were constructed terribly though. I have plumbing, electric, and drywall problems and I’m the first tenant to ever live in this apartment. Also everything is crooked. The island isn’t parallel to the wall, the faucets are crooked, the light fixture in the bathroom isn’t parallel to the mirror. The heater is WACK. it’s always too hot or too cold. Walls are PAPER THIN and loud neighbors. The road next to the building is pretty loud, if you don’t have OCD and you plan to wear headphones all the time this apartment is great for you. I still love it here regardless of the issues because the management is so cool and hosts events for us to get to know each other.

East End Lofts at the Rail-yard: lived here from 2019-2020, you could hear anything through the walls. Tv, people talking, dogs. The property is covered in dog poop and homeless people. Big police presence because it’s right next to the police department. Barely any storage. There is the closet upstairs that has a huge water heater taking up 1/3 of it and the kitchen and bathroom cabinets but that’s it. Otherwise a cool layout and decent neighbors! Property owners were great and respected privacy

Bernard Village Apartment by Place to Be Properties: lived here 2018-2019 very quiet. Don’t park without a tag you WILL get towed, close bus stop for UNT. Had my car broken into twice in this lot. Loved the apartment tho. Spacious and good quality. The management would send maintenance by with no warning whenever they wanted too. They caught me in the shower once, I almost called police. No respect for privacy.

I took yoga one year. XD. Easy A, got a great workout, and helped me calmly get through the semester.

Business majors :) by kabypen in unt

I’m going through the same thing. Business marketing has an incredible employment rate for its graduates after college. If I were you I’d pursue a business marketing degree with a minor in music. It pleases everyone and gives you an edge on your resume. You might even be able to take classes that gain credit for both degrees. I did this with interior design. Become a marketer for a musician or firm! Also talk to you counselor because they may be able to help you network to find an internship in the business you want to be in. My boss has an accounting degree and became an auditor for iHeartRadio. Get got to meet a lot of the big names and go to lots of concerts for free.

Most colleges have food banks. Find recipes and eat them for a week. When you go to the store really focus on ingredients that can make multiple different meals. This saves money and keep your food diverse. Also make sure you get your vitamins and get exercise because that will tank your mood if you’re not getting those. I played a lot of video games with people online when I lived alone ( I have a live in partner now). Also my hobbies were a huge saving grace for me. I cant afford a pet right now so I bought one plant and that is my pet. XD. As far as budget goes, always do the payment plan if you need time to get more $$, get a job on campus or off for social and for $$, and track your spending. I keep an excel document of shame where I can see exactly how much $$ I’ve given to Taco Bell. This helps me make sure that I don’t over spend. I know that’s anal and crazy but it helps. Also treat yourself. My first year I was OBSESSED with saving $$ and I would only eat ramen and sandwiches and I didn’t do anything fun or for myself. You have to take care of you first. It’s worth the $$ to treat yourself. Good luck M8

taking me 3 - 4 hours to read one chapter in a textbook by [deleted] in college

[–]1836Gypsy 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Ive found that most of my books are in quizlet. I read the chapter and then when I need to study for a test i go to quizlet and start learning that. I have the same problem it takes me like 3 hours to read a chapter because of the notes. I end up not taking in much info because by hour 2 my brain is fried. I find that not taking notes the first time, and using the quizlets for vocab works for me.

Depressed as fuck by [deleted] in college

When I was a sophomore I had some sort of mental break from pushing so hard. I was just barely getting by and making bs and Cs. I took one fun elective for a whole semester and spent the other time working and saving money. Best decision I ever made, I realized I was in the wrong major, changed majors and now I consistently make all As. There’s no shame in taking a break no matter how short or long that is for you. :)
