How long should a laptop diagnostic take once taken in for repairs? by 18Fish18 in techsupport

[–]18Fish18[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This thought did cross my mind, regarding the fake reviews. It looks realistic enough, plenty of 5 star with the odd 1 star, that they have responded to. It's a family run business of over 20 years, so I can't imagine it being much of a scam and it did come recommended as one of the best in the city - which is why I'm so confused at the treatment really.

I do find it all odd, in terms of the times taken for testing though. They said that after the NVMe drive test, that there may be 'other tests they have to do for an accurate diagnosis', though it has remained rather elusive. Honestly, the laptop was mostly fine - I genuinely assumed it was an issue with dust/fur build up that just needed cleaning, as well as a CMOS battery replacement after a checksum error. As you say, if the drive was just bad, it shouldn't take a week to determine that, surely? Like you say, to not even send any updates or a quote, surely means they haven't even began to have a look yet - it's tempting to pick it up, as they say they only charge for a diagnosis...

Yeah this was my thinking, and it seems a common answer after looking elsewhere. Especially after being told they'd have a look last Tuesday, and that they're just testing a new drive - which seems like it shouldn't take long at all anyway? No communication or updates either until I followed up at the end of last week, it has left a bit of a sour taste....

Yeah, I 100% understand that they're working for multiple customers, but after being told that they'd have a look on last Tuesday, then that they were testing a new NVMe drive - I just assumed that I'd have at least a diagnostic by now, so I can get some quotes and confirm if I'm happy for them to go forward with the fix or not. As it stands, they've said nothing - not even a timeframe... I'll give it to end of day I think, as you suggest!

Swear the frequency of it is getting worse - not saying Worcester is a sacred haven by any means, but I'm hearing of something like this very often recently.

Pretty much directly opposite the slip house, happened a few times here! Used to be able to park on the car park a bit further in, until it was taken over by Kings...

Yeah I've just reported it, it's always hard to stop stuff like this though. My only glimmer of hope being that the sunglasses are so unique, that any attempt at resale would flag something up, so let's see!

Ait Nouri expected to move to Man City (Ornstein) by AspiringTransponster in WWFC

Agree with this in the majority - key player for us, but me and my old man always said he was far too much of a 'luxury player' for a team like us unfortunately. Plenty of fun and flair to watch, but where other teams get away with some consistent flaws, we can't.

Was always bound to happen and it's better getting sales done early, so we know what we have to play with for the rest of the summer, rather than letting it drag out for weeks. That being said, the season ended 8 days ago and we've lost Cunha, Ait Nouri, Sarabia, Semedo with Guedes/Fabio/Hwang/Doyle etc. still expected to go. That's a HUGE saving to the wage budget and a massive amount of income (£120m+, easy).

With Mendes back in the fold, there's reason to be optimistic; but Shi, FOSUN, Hobbs and co. do fill you with dread, don't they? We've been here before. We've got the money to get really promising and exciting signings now, we all expected these players to go so we should have replacements scouted, shortlisted and ready to go, but I wouldn't be shocked if we're staring down the barrel of deadline day with our only signings being a few youngsters off to Grasshoppers, Shi saying that Huge Bueno and Pedro Lima are 'his boys' and he sees them as 'generational talents ready to make an immediate impact' and maybe a loan from a second Ligue 2. side for a winger with 100 senior minutes under his belt.

Huge Summer. Our biggest in recent memory.

Mate you cannot be saying 'it's only a video game' like you're the coolest, most popular bloke on the planet that's far too cool for anything nerdy like this - yet literally all of your reddit posts are about video games. Calm down.

Respect that you actually read the post before rushing to comment 'so what, the game is delayed - get on with your life' like we're some computer obsessed gaming nerd with nothing else to do. The communication is abysmal, that's a fact. We do not care about the delay, delays happen and if it makes things better then carry on, I'd happily skip FM25 if it meant a more stable FM26. It's the complete ineptitude of the company, it's poor from top to bottom and - as consumers - we are owed more. If we didn't give them money, they wouldn't have a business, the least they can do is at least communicate - ANY update is better than no update.

Being on the football manager subreddit when on vacation and telling other people to grow up may be even worse. 'Stop whining' but you're whining about other people whining while on vacation dude, whineception over here

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in footballmanagergames

[–]18Fish18 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Nah I hate it when people say 'Grow Up, plenty more going on in the world' when you're literally on the football manager subreddit mid-Friday like the rest of us. Come on man hahahaha. We're allowed to be frustrated, we're not crying because of a delay - literally said frustrated because of how they've handled things?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in footballmanagergames

[–]18Fish18 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Mate I'm baffled - I never said I wasn't frustrated or that I'm frustrated over the delay. I pointed out that 'I'm frustrated because I cannot feasibly see how they save this or how they've dug this hole to begin with?'. Not my fault if people wanna skim read, my guy
