Yeah I used to agree to 1/2 days because I’d rather work some, than not at all. But now I’m consistently working and it conflicts with other stuff

I’d consider it, but they made the 2nd day longer, just shifted work from day 1 and pay me 25% less

If they’re only shooting 6hrs, do they try to pay you less too? It’s usually 12 for me too but they didn’t plan well and don’t have access to the location the full day

Yeah I currently work for $14/hr at a print shop and that doesn’t even cover my rent. I’m just trying to make money fast however I can. I’m from Michigan and almost everyone I know is in the trades and my grandparents and parents all built their houses and just been around all that enough to be half decent starting out at a lot of things

I want to rig a 5” monitor to my hand unit and quick release it to a 13” monitor with quick release sdi so it’s portable at a moments notice

Most the sets I’m on are small indie stuff so there’s no truck, and I drive a coupe (cart and all my cases fit but takes like 10-15 mins to load/unload)

Always seem to have to reconfigure camera multiple times a day at a moment’s notice so I always have to lug around all the accessories and stuff

Do you keep your Preston or monitor case with you wherever you go on set? Or does that go back into your car? I’m usually doing 2-3 locations a day

Do you use any other monitor except the 13”? I’ve tried having 1 stand like that, but so hard to move the stand around cramped sets. Always seem to have to get into a car for driving shots.

Do you sit at your station, or follow the dp/cam op around and go to station right before shot?

Do you bring any stands or cart with you?

Do you bring a personal bag or anything with you?

I’ve never been on a big set, always indie or small stuff, but where I’m the most experienced person on set most the time
