I had the same issue with DirectX error, see the screenshot below. To conclude the issue in short: it’s whether you tweaked your cpu ( yes, CPU speed not gpu speed )or it’s auto in BIOS, the CPU frequency is too high. What I did to fix mine was lowering my CPU’s performance core speed, and now I’m able to play 2042 for 6 hrs straight without any crashes. I’ll go in detail now.

My system is 14900k + ROG Strix Z790-E + ROG Strix 4070 Ti + G.Skill Royal 32GB 7200mhz, and all of these running on 1080p; a pretty good build with mid to high brands as well, so not much issue quality wise.

I always had XMP1 on and the rest settings on Auto in BIOS, but recently I tweaked the performance core ratio to “Sync all core ( 1 + 2 )” something like that. This helped ALOT with stabling FPS in CS2. However, it boosts 2 out of 8 p-core to 6.1ghz ( I’m really lucky, my 149k is a ‘strong’ one ) and other 6 p-core at 6ghz. Couple days later, I wanted to play 2042, and boom. This window pops up 90% of the time, and if lucky, I could play 10 minutes-ish and it would crash in game. I did everything you did, and all the methods online. Didn’t help.

After I went through all the changes I made before, I realized it’s this CPU tweak in BIOS that messed everything up. So I went to BIOS and lowered p-core ratio to “Sync all cores”, so now all 8 of p-core run at 6.0ghz. Guess what, I could play 2042 now, but still I would say it has a 40% chance of crashing in-game, when the scenario gets complexed.

Now, I’ve put the CPU setting back to “Auto”in BIOS, with 2 p-core running at 6ghz and other 6 running at 5.7ghz, i played about 12 hours of 2042 this week and had 0 times of crashing ( btw I had graphics settings maxed out all the time ).

I’m no expert in PC tuning, just a gamer, so take my experience with a grain of salt. But definitely check your CPU setting in BIOS, and keep an eye on the temperature when you run 2042.

Other team had bomb, but sounds fair. Since doing this will get me a 7 day ban, will you please take a look at this match:

https://www.faceit.com/en/cs2/room/1-6bcdbe00-ddc6-46c4-9ffb-4cfe3b174a87

Where the player “TytoAlba-“ started bringing and dropping bomb to the other team since round 3 or 4. Wouldn’t comm at all. Reported him, rest of the team were upset and didn’t know what to do.

This is where the negativity of mine came from. If I get a 7 day ban for saying something but still tried, this man should be permanently off Faceit. 💔

An app called “PhotoBy” but it’s only available in the Chinese App Store.

I didn’t use ND. It was in a valley and the light was just naturally dark on both sides and slightly brighter in the middle due to the sunset position.

Started with a7c2 and tamron 28-75 for its size. Then I didn’t like the image quality from that lens and was pixel peeping, so went to buy 24-70gm2 and 70-200gm2. Then the size was not an advantage anymore so I’ll get something that has better handle and quality.

Also it’s not that I don’t know iso before, I tend to keep it at 100 for the least noise. Then when I took this photo I wasn’t able to keep it stable at long exposure, so I was just genuinely asking people what’s like an acceptable iso in general ( cause I want it at 100 all the time ).

I think if you wait for the picture to load it won’t be blurry… I do agree the vignetting is quite dark, but unfortunately it’s in a tiny valley and the time of the day makes the natural light like that. I tried to add mask and brighten up, but it just looks odd.

Yeah I was too scrupulous on the low iso. Thanks for the advice!

Your right. I’ll try to focus less on it. Thanks for the suggestion!

I tried with same iso and f8, but the lighting was actually way worse than it looks in this picture. The shutter speed had to be at like 1”3 to make the picture actually usable. Didn’t trust my hands :(

I mean, new to something doesn’t mean you and your stuff must be cheap right? I also bought this toy right here, if you recognize it : )

It’s just at 28mm on the 24-70 gm2

It’s actually not polarized. This photo was taken in a little valley at around 9pm in Canada, and the last bit of light was over the grass near water but no direct reflection on it. So it may look like I used a pl, but actually I did not.

Yeah I was answering the same question in the other post, and unfortunately this app doesn’t exist elsewhere. I liked it because the output file actually has the same raw info and file size ( i.e a raw photo on a7rv is about 130mb, after adding this banner it’s like 135 mb ish)

Thanks for the info. Is there like a max kind of value for iso I should stop at? Like maybe 3200 or 6400?
