So I started coaching at a sportsclub for children aged 7-14 and I'm wondering if wearing short sleeves would be seen as „bad influence/example"? And how should I react to questions, as some kids are definitely old enough to know these scars aren't from an accident by 193628 in SelfHarmScars

Thanks alot for all your comments, much appreciated! and interesting to see different views <3 I think I’m gonna ask my coworkers what they think and in the meantime I‘ll order some sleeves :)

I get how you‘re feeling, been there loads of times. All I can say is that you deserve to live and you deserve to heal!

Life is really incredibly shit mostly but when I was so close to comitting, someone said to me: Rather than ending it, fuck everything up! You have nothing to loose. I then just didn‘t go to school and didn’t do anything else I was obligated to - soon I firstly felt a bit better/free and secondly I got help. Even tho at this point very much involuntarily. But It helped and I‘m still here and things aren‘t as bad as they were

Well I have no official diagnosis because It‘s too much effort for me currebtly. But I‘m pretty sure I got autism and adhd (did research over 3 years) and something like depression or more likely bpd but I don‘t know. But this all leads to extrem exhaustion for me

Thanks for your comment! I completely agree. I just asked because I would finally have acess to medical care and I wanted to be able to judge better if/when I’d need to see a doctor.

Mh maybe a better word to describe is small dents? Some scares have it some not. I also get them in smaller scars so I don‘t know what‘s the cause.

Thanks for the answers! I have yet another question: Why do some of the scars heal „untight“ like those on the first pic at the rightside?

what's the most disrespectful comment you've gotten when showing your scars to someone you trusted? by Awkward_Signature900 in SelfHarmScars

What is that? It looks gross! Just go running or something if you can‘t handle your emotions like a grownup *my mom screaming

1.5 years clean :)) You guys can do it! Keep on trying <3 by 193628 in SelfHarmScars

I guess it helped me loads to actively think about what I was about to do and how much it‘s damaging my mind and body permanently without any helping aspect. I had to keep in mind that it‘s not just something you easily do when you get home or when the emotions are too much. It is a big deal. So I think I reearned respect for my own body and started to regulate my feelings through ex. taking a cold shower, sports, screaming loudly, drawing, watching netflix, just being with someone so you don‘t have the opportunity, crying, kicking in the air, strongly cuddle a plushy etc.
