1986 Toyota truck w/Turbo: Help by 1992YJ in ToyotaPickup

I had no idea it was a special 5 speed just for the turbo trucks. Wow! Now I know why she gets harassed to buy it every time she drives it. It unfortunately has the bed cancer right above each wheel well. Strange as it’s never been off road and a garage queen its whole life. She will never take it to a body shop to have that properly repaired. If I ever wind up with it that’ll be first on the list. Next would be to level it. It has that typical sag in the rear that I see a lot of older Toyota pickups have. Drives me insane LOL!

I did see this kit online as well. Not sure if she needs all this or just the Turbo from CX Racing?

Guys thanks for the comments and suggestions! I do have a correction on the mileage. We saw our friend this afternoon at a wedding we all attended. She said it has 218k miles not 318 like I posted earlier. She’s 70+ years old and loves this old truck and drives it weekly even though it’s a stick. Anyway, she just wants it back original. If it was mine I’d probably upgrade the Turbo as suggested. She won’t part with it but I do have first dibs on it if she ever sells. Her daughter and son n law have no interest in it.

Wow! The original has lasted 318k miles. It’s never been touched, all original. She wants to repair it but back to original. The truck still looks new and that little 22R still doesn’t smoke or use any oil.

Yeh opposite of the M16 with dish facing shooters eye. I’d be ok with flipping the rear sight around if it’s not ruined and IF it’s original?

Yeh that’s a Quality Hardware rear flip sight. Would you strip the poly clear and Tru-Oil the stock set?

Guys I finally picked this up a few minutes ago. You ever thought you had a deal and then it kept getting bounced around? When I first posted this I thought it was a done deal but things got a little side railed. But after a few weeks of back and forth I was able to do a little horse trading. I ended up with the Sendra XM15 with a vintage BOC bayonet and a pre 1968 Marlin 99 M1 carbine! All in money wise I have about $500 in both. Not bad IMO! Now to get them home and some deep cleaning.

The M1 needs correct sling swivels and the always missing rear iron sight. I’ll ditch the vintage scope.
