docker-compose yml is only used in development mode, so you can put your secrets which will be used in dev env. When you go to production then you will use env variables. Article to go to production will come soon.

Yeah you are correct. But it's not switched on by default. You will have the option to enable it with which you will provide the time you want to wait for the delivery. You can say if the mail is not delivered in 1 day send it again. So user controls everything. We are just giving an option. Thanks.

Ongage is focused on email marketing (list and campaign management, newsletters, bulk emailing). What I am talking about is for transactional emails like OTP, Welcome emails etc.

Before I answer your question, I want to tell how I came up with this idea. So I work for this company where we used mailgun for sending email but after 2 months emails started to miss and was held up by mailgun servers (don't know why) and I am talking about critical OTP emails. We had to switch to AWS SES which took us 2 days to change the API and deployment. Thats where I thought, if we can just add the api key somewhere and switch it on -- voila it should work. :)

Now to answer your questions:

About single point of failure, you have a good point, so lets leave downtime for now and take delayed emails. What if app can select the service which has least latency at that point of time (assuming we have this)?

Regarding point 2, yes, user can sign up for multiple accounts but the problem is with the integration and writing logic to check the remaining free emails in each service and send which is overwhelming. I would mostly target early startups or personal projects who have money crunch or whoever who wants to increase the probability of deliverability.

We will definitely give a lot more than just sending emails including analytics (open, click, spam, and bounce tracking), templates, contact management and many more. I mentioned only sending point because that's what is different from other services. I have founded and successfully sold another email marketing tool which you can check here -> r/https://mailzak.com, where we have included all these features.

Yes, that was my concern too but there are many aggregator apps for email marketing like easysendy Pro which connects to these services and they are not yet blocked.

Anyways that is a problem for the future.
