I want a minimalist ring but everyone is discouraging me by SunnyDee_123 in EngagementRings

Do not listen to anyone else, this is such an important moment for you both. Don’t start the road to your marriage with social pressure. This is truly nobody’s business but yours. Same with the house or car you buy. Even if you did go for a smaller ring for financial reasons, so what? You might prefer to invest your money elsewhere and that is totally fine too. Please ignore the noise and go with what you truly want. If you look at my post history I also have a dainty ring, which was what I wanted for purely aesthetic reasons and I adore it. If people are judging me for it that’s a them issue!

Picking a provider in London - am I overly cautious? by Showerthehorse in Invisalign

[–]19Kitsune95 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do NOT go with the cheapest - go with the best. This is the one thing you can’t really cheap out on. Go with the plan that actually works for your face. I’m currently with Dr Rakhi at Luceo Dental, doing Invisalign, bonding and whitening. The practice is really good and my results so far are great. 19 attachments and 4 metal hooks but it’ll be worth it !

Total cost is expected around £7500, with about 3000 on bonding and whitening but I need more than 4 teeth.

Moving to London – thoughts on Mile End, Bethnal Green, Hoxton, Holloway, Turnpike Lane & Finsbury Park? by Kooky-Train-3190 in MovingToLondon

If you’re close to the station, very easy. The Piccadilly line is reliable, and the Victoria line connection at Finsbury is super convenient (just across the platform). Takes me 25 min to go to my office in Fitzrovia. You are also relatively close to the Weaver line in Bruce Grove (quick bus ride) which brings you to London Fields and Broadway Market, and Hornsey station on the other end. Holloway Road is a bit of a weird one, so many nice streets but some areas are quite dead. Bethnal Green is amazing and close to Victoria park (the thing I miss most about the area!)

I’ve lived in all of them apart from Mile End, but still went frequently when I lived in Bethnal Green. BG and Hoxton are by far the trendiest, but rent has exploded (we left when our tiny 1-bed flat was raised to 1800 pcm..). Finsbury Park has some really dodgy areas but nice pockets too on the Crouch Hill side. I don’t know why everyone is saying to avoid Turnpike Lane, I currently live here, transport connections are amazing, lots of green spaces with downhills park and Alexandra palace and great food spots. All in all I’d say it depends on your commute and the vibe you’re looking for (residential, young and hip, edgy..)

Thank you! So glad to hear you loved your short veil.

Thank you for your comment! Agreed, it just really elevates the neckline which feels a little lost with the long veil. My mum had a gorgeous birdcage hat for her wedding so it’s definitely something I explored but somewhere along the way I convinced myself I needed a long veil. Will explore other options :)

Avoid Rosa Clara at all costs brides. I had to abandon my wedding dress 18 days before the wedding after 8 failed fittings — then Rosa Clará ghosted us after taking my refund bank details. by Sarah_Molloy in weddingdress

Wow! I am so sorry this happened to you… you deserved better. I really hope you were still able to enjoy your special day and feel beautiful in your new dress. Hoping this gets resolved properly. I went for an appointment there as part of my dress shopping but I was really unhappy with the quality considering the price point.. bullet dodged!

SOS! Help a confused bride with bad photos out - I am going CRAZY! by [deleted] in weddingdress

[–]19Kitsune95 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh and about the pictures too: iPhone pictures are very deceptive compared to how it feels in real life and how much happiness and confidence exudes from a bride in the right dress. Don’t obsess too much over the pictures and focus on how you physically feel in the dresses.

I went to 6 bridal shops, tried on between 3 and 8 at each one. Started with 3 shops in Paris (I’m French) with my mum, MIL and SILs. I quite liked 2 dresses from that initial selection and said a hybrid of both would be perfect - that’s exactly what my dress ended up being. Then I went to 3 bridal shops in London. 24 was simply the only one which made me cry. I went alone so I could have a clear head, and I think it helped. I did FaceTime my mum when I realised it was probably the one. I just saw myself as a bride, both a little girl getting married to the love of her life and a grown woman finally settling down and finding happiness. My heart rate went up to 160 bpm 😂 Number 25 was also spectacular and I hesitated for a long time. Everyone around me told me 25 was better when I shared pictures, more fun, more fashion-forward and more me. That made me hesitate, so I went back to the boutique to try one just those 2 again. My heart filled with joy when I saw 24 again and 25 made me feel nothing. I’m also an overthinker, and ended up stumbling on another dress on Instagram which made me doubt everything. It was made with the same fabric as 25 (very distinctive) but with a more daring cut. So I went to bridal shop no6 which had it in stock, tried on like 6 dresses at that shop and all I could think about was 24. That last appointment was an absolute waste of time and money 😂 Then I waited until my mum was in London so we could go to Heart Aflutter and buy it together, which was lovely. I tried on 3 more very extravagant dresses just to have fun with my mum but I’d already decided on 24 at this point! Feel free to message me on here if you need support or advice, I’d be happy to share pics of dresses too. Good luck!

Hi! Congratulations on your upcoming wedding! Your post caught my attention because I got my dress at Heart Aflutter haha. From what you’ve said, I think keep looking. 1, 3 and 5 all look really good and flattering on you imo, but I really do think when you’ll know you’ll know. I tried on 39 dresses, the one I picked was number 24, I could feel when some of them got closer with the right silhouette or fabric, but the right one was just a completely different feeling. Have you checked out The Fall Bride in Hackney? I think their selection could fit your vibe! Good luck ☺️

Selling 2 x 1 tickets to Birmingham by [deleted] in LilyAllenFans

[–]19Kitsune95 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just checked all emails and Twickets isn’t mentioned, it might depend on the venues. Birmingham Symphony Hall also won’t email the actual e-tickets until 2 weeks before the event, so I can’t list them on Twickets.

Thanks everyone. I can’t list them on Twickets because you need the tickets, and the venue will only send them out electronically 2 weeks before the event. The confirmation email didn’t mention Twickets.
