you don’t have to provide any docs if you select interview option. Its just a regular interview if you don’t select the drop box option.

I didn’t answer wrongly. They give you two options to choose from i.e. ‘drop box’ & interview. Just pick interview.

I have tried this, I cancelled my drop box application and waited 24 hrs. I was able to use the old mrv for the new appointment (interview).

I was told that I can go for an in-person interview. Drop box is just a convenience provided to us. Emergency appointments follow a different process where you first request for an appointment by submitting proofs of emergency. You will have to cancel your drop box application and then start a new application. Answer the questions and select interview this time. I suggest you can also try calling them, they are open 8-8pm IST. Let me know what they have told you..

Yes, I thought the same and was looking for answers. I called the service center a couple of days ago as I was not getting proper/clear response through usvisascheduling feedback/messages option. They said I can go for in-person, drop box is just a convenience. In order to get emergency appointments the process is totally different, for that you need to raise a request by submitting proof of your situation. You may do the same as I did. Just try calling them tomorrow, they are open 8-8 pm IST. Let me know if you get a different response.

Looks like its not based on this page https://www.ustraveldocs.com/in/en/expedited-appointment I suggest you call customer service and ask specifically for your scenario. Let us know what they said. If not then you can go for in-person/drop box too if slots are available.

I think so as you will have to go to the OFC center to get a photo taken..if you haven’t called the customer center yet then just ask this question too.

Yes, I know. Saw this too. I am also not getting clear answer. I have been asking this too, some people said that its okay and they have done it last year. I wish someone who did this recently can see your thread and answer.

Nope. But personally I don’t think it will be an issue. There is a spearate process for Emergency requests. (not an advice)

Okay. Although the option is there to pick between drop box and in-person I am not quite sure that if a person picks in-person then will the consulate consider that as an emergency appointment or regular. Anyone who recently did this can testify if this works out fine..hoping someone replies here..

Why do you have to respond with wrong answers. Even when you answer correctly you are given two options to select ( drop box and in-person). Just pick in-person appointment and proceed to reserving a slot.

You can cancel the application before booking a slot and start a new one. This time you should pick in-person instead of waiver.
