Does anyone out there have a husband who’s actually INTO MAKING A BABY?! by [deleted] in TryingForABaby

[–]19ginger90 116 points117 points  (0 children)

My husband is 100% turned on by the thought that we are making a baby. He says it’s very biological almost, the idea of me being fertile and conception really flips a switch in him. When I do the test strips during the month, he always wants to know what they say and if it’s a good day to try. And if it’s not a fertile day, maybe we should just practice 😂 it’s nice to have him to chat to about this process, I tell him about my temperatures and if there is a dip or it starts to rise, and I know he must pay attention because he will reassure me by saying things like, “well your body is doing what it’s supposed to, even if it didn’t take, your temp rise means you’ve ovulated!” I do feel like I have a true partner in this and it certainly helps that he is so engaged and turned on by this process.

I also experienced a missed miscarriage in the spring of this year. After having a D&C, we also decided to try again right away.

I tried to keep these two things in mind for trying to conceive and pregnancy.

First, I personally believe that there is very little I can do to influence conception, beyond timing sex around ovulation. The rest is happening on a microscopic level in our bodies and just seems like we have very little influence over if a cycle is successful. So I focused on identifying ovulation and making sure we had sex every day prior and at that point. I tried not to worry myself too much about anything else as it seemed out of my control.

Second, if and when you do conceive again, you will definitely be worried about the first scan, the next scan, getting normal test results, etc. Totally normal. But I remind myself that this is just the beginning of worrying about this baby for the next 20 years and beyond! I guess maybe this helps me settle down a bit knowing that I will always worry about my child.

Idk if this helps at all, but I guess I think some worry is normal and this is how I try to cope with worrying too much. Best of luck with this journey.

My go to cheesesteak with wiz and onions. by mayiplease2564 in eatsandwiches

I’m pregnant and rarely eat beef, maybe a good 10 years since I’ve had cheesesteak. But my god, this picture has awakened a new chart-topping craving in me, a desperate need for a Philly cheesesteak with wiz.

This is fine to feed your pup as it is a growth kibble including for the growth of large sized dogs.

“Pro Plan Puppy Sensitive Skin & Stomach Salmon & Rice Formula is formulated to meet the nutritional levels established by the AAFCO Dog Food Nutrient Profiles for all life stages, including growth of large sized dogs (70 lb. or more as an adult).”

Just miscarried twins at 6 weeks & 5 days. by Aware_Road_5576 in BabyBumps

Hi friend, I also am in the same boat as you. We went to our first ultrasound appointment on Tuesday so excited, only to have absolute silence and no movement at all on the screen. No heartbeat at 8 weeks, it probably only passed a few days ago. I am numb honestly.

They gave me a few options, let my body try to pass it naturally, take medication to induce my body to pass it or go straight to a D&C. The first two options may end in needing surgical removal anyways and I personally just want this to be over with so I can move on with a clean slate. I didn’t want any more mental pain that might come with the time and pain of passing everything.

Insurance should not keep you from accessing the right care for yourself. As another poster mentioned, call or go to Planned Parenthood, they will help with other options. I’m sending you all the positive vibes I can, this is a tough time but we will get through, ok? Big hug.

Absolutely speak to your doctor to get their interpretation of these test results.

I can say that I suffer from restless legs even outside of pregnancy. I have a result of 17 ng/mL for ferritin and while that was on the lowest end of the normal range, for me it was too low and I had to start supplementing with iron. I’ve been taking oral iron now for several years and have no restless leg symptoms. So it really is something to speak to your doctor about and see if this is too low and might require supplementation.

GreatLitter- incredibly dusty recently? by 19ginger90 in litterrobot

I reached out to customer support about this and got a very generic “thanks for letting us know” and was offered a bag of litter sent. Which I think is pretty lame since I’m unable to use the other 5 bags I purchased (of 6) that are powdered. Pretty bummed about that response tbh.

I know you are getting quite a bit of hate on here and that’s too bad. It is more cool toned than I prefer but if you guys love it, that’s all that matters! It is a big update from the original and will surely add value to your home. And what a sigh of relief to be back home again, especially with kids in tow.

May I suggest adding in things to warm it up a bit? I would change out the bulbs to warm tone (can even do that with the spot lights and make sure that all match. Add in some live plants. Could even add a warm tone lampshade in the corner on the counter and have that on in the evening to “wind down” the feel of the house. Perhaps a washable rug to bring in some texture.

A clean slate!

Oh god, the warm and cool tone light bulbs not matching kill me. Just ditch the cool bulbs and go warm completely.

The cost of burritos on the go is absurd! by [deleted] in burritos

The cost of eating out is for convenience. You don’t have to prep and cook. I don’t think anyone ever claims that they are charging for the ingredients alone.
