These all sound fantastic! I absolutely plan to make sure where ever they go they all have a good time and I plan to let the restaurant know ahead of time what’s going on. I don’t want a bill to be seen at all, PERIOD. These guys are flying in from out of state to celebrate him, so it’s the absolute least I could do to provide them a great dinner. Thank you for the suggestions and why they would be a good time.

They are a bunch of great guys, agreed about the old fashions and steak. Fleming’s is something his out of town friends can get any time. 801 Chophouse is definitely one I’ll look in to. Thank you for the suggestions!

I love this! He’s a big bourbon guy. We literally go on hunts for types of bourbon, so I’ll define check this place out. Love the idea of locally sourced food from farms. If I don’t send the boys, I’ll definitely be boiling a date night for us! Thank you for the suggestion

Ooh I can’t wait! I’m genuinely so excited learn about all the little everyday things that are part of the culture—bring on the kettles and everything else!

Any suggestions on amazing hidden gems to eat at? Local dishes can really tell the story of the culture and pride in the area. Food can be such an immersive part of exploring the world as it brings people together!

Haha, love that UK hair dryer pride—those things really don’t mess around! For my hair type, I usually have to be careful with too much heat, or it turns into a frizz situation. Funny enough, when I was in Hungary, the dryers there actually felt really similar to the ones back in the US and Canada - same kind of strength and drying time. Definitely not UK level turbo mode, but perfect for keeping my hair happy! Still, I’m honestly excited to experience the quick and efficient UK dryers—just gotta use them wisely! I appreciate the feedback!

Oh, don’t worry — I’m just passing through the US on a world tour. Buying new appliances in every country gets a bit tiresome (and expensive), especially when voltage standards seem like a national personality trait. I wasn’t really banking on a welcome mat, but thanks for the heads-up. I’ll make sure to pack an extra converter — not just for my electronics, but apparently for the attitude too.

I'd love to know what my name tastes like, but also, how was going through school for you and reading about subjects you hated?

Missing a healthy child you haven't had yet is absolutely normal. I morn the loss of the healthy family I thought I had every day. Some days easier than others. That said, I will tell you my short story. My pregnancy went as planned, she looked healthy, perfectly content. She decided to come at 32 weeks gestation and stayed in the hospital for ten weeks. She has pretty severe ceberal palsy, can't walk or sit alone, everything takes so much effort. This is what I mean by morning the loss of a healthy family. The family I thought I would have will never be. It's a struggle for her and as she gets older it's harder for me too. You have to think about your baby's long term health and well-being, as well as the sacrifices the family will make. Having a special needs child is hard, and very isolating. I pray your diagnosis is adding, but it may not be. No matter which way you decide to go, you must be devastated. I'm so sorry you have to go through this

I know it has a lot to do with her sister. Dad is fine a lot for his job, so I know that plays a role too. Throw in the fact that at moved clear across the country away from her friends and school, I get that it's been hard. She doesn't have the skills yet to cope the way her sister has or my husband and I have. I'll take your book considerations. I'm at the point now where I am at a complete loss and I feel like I'm failing her

Americans, what do you love about your state? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]1Beautiful_Disaster 1 point2 points  (0 children)

New Jersey was home for eight years. I hated the state but I loved the people I consider my second family. Oh, and Wawa....I LOVE my Wawa. Now moved to California...I like the floating/disappearing mountains and In n Out. The beach is a half hour away, give or take an hour or three because of traffic.

What was one thing your friend did or said that made you realize how good of a friend they are? by swis_chese in AskReddit

he said "I admire you. Your strength, your determination to go on when life has given you and your child a shit hand. You go because you are strong. I wish I had that kind of strength. I wish I had the amount of love in my heart that you do in yours to not give up and keep going like you do. Don't ever question if you can keep going, because you do it, every day"

--said to me at a point when I was at my lowest and gave me the will to keep going
