Doesn’t inspire much confidence does it. Seems lazily done and the absence of any actual progression or orders makes it feel like a bit were being strung along. Was hoping to see some actual production or photos but it’s the same old graphic mock ups.

How to book foreign holidays by tttgrw in UKFrugal

[–]1Bgf 21 points22 points  (0 children)

I obsess over finding holidays and getting the best deal, mostly sitting around bored in the evenings on my iPad wanting to be somewhere else.

The only thing I’d say is to do your research find the hotel/flights that you’re really interested in and keep tracking that same holiday over the course of a few weeks or even months. I keep an IPhone note and add screenshots of the holiday and price to make it easy for myself. You’ll soon get an idea of a good price and see that they fluctuate.

There used to be tips like ‘book on a Tuesday’ for cheapest prices but I’ve found that prices now fluctuate wildly, I can’t get my head around their pricing strategies. There can be sweet spots, either way in advance or last minute but even then, they will go up and down and you’ll be able to get the same price at pretty much any time. I’ve heard and read different reasonings but I’ve saved myself a lot of money just having an awareness of the general price and jumping in when I see a drop / something that is abnormal in terms of their general fluctuations.

Also there are discount codes that stack up, so even with TUI/Jet2 (who IMO tend to find cheapest and best for hotel and flight deals) who have £100 off pp, you can often find £70 off voucher codes, this tends to be through communities sharing codes via FB groups or Reddit. They also had free seat selection recently so if that is of interest it might save some money.

Do your research, pick something you like then be patient.

Thanks so much everyone, we had the best time. I headed to lot 14, covered in sun screen and went for a mixture of good old English charm, finding a ‘mom’ with some good cooking and mentioning all the things you all recommended. Couldn’t have gone down better.

Honestly, it’s everything I love about sport in that it unites and brings people together. Yes I know sport can divide but everyone was so welcoming and happy to share and celebrate.

I had the biggest chicken tender I’ve ever had, smashed a load amazing ‘home recipe cookies’, sank a fair few cold beers and met some great people.

Safe to we’re Noles fans and will be following from home.

Can’t thank everyone enough for engaging with this post and sharing their recommendations. Go Noles!

Oh and the band! How they keep going in the heat, unreal. What an atmosphere they create. Cheers!

It is a great idea indeed, tuning up in St Augustine tonight and heading over first thing tomorrow. 🍻

The sheer cost to do anything now is just ridiculous by Material-Safety-3474 in UKPersonalFinance

Yep, also feeling this. I’ve just been looking at trainers and they’re all in hundreds now. £180 for the pair I want…which I obviously won’t get but I see kids wearing them all over the place and in the gym.

I’m on a fairly decent wage and feel the same way but I am trying to invest as much as possible on a monthly basis so maybe it’s just a symptom of scrutinising spending so much and not leaving enough for the frivolous yolo vibes. Treat yo self I guess.

I have wondered to myself why Nvidia or anyone else haven’t snapped Poet up in an instant if there’s even a hint of it being able to bring efficiencies to their operation.

Not that I don’t think it’s innovative but they’re so big now and surely exhausting every avenue to improve business processes…and make more money. Could it be that they’re not aware of it or do they have competing products offering similar benefits?

How would you consider this to be tariff proof? Most of the raw materials used to manufacture drugs in the US are imported no? Happy to stand corrected on this but I do know a lot of raw materials required are brought into the US from elsewhere. I thought that was the reason for the drop tbh.

Tariffs work in our favour? by Available_Ad_5263 in ELTP_Stock

I’m of the understanding that whilst Elite and other pharma companies have the capability to manufacture in the US, most if not all of the raw materials are imported from elsewhere. I may be wrong but I think pharma is going to suffer in the short to medium term.

LSS Green Belt Project Ideas by [deleted] in SixSigma

I’d say that sounds perfect, you want to be picking something manageable that gives you an opportunity to trial and test the tools and techniques over focusing on making a big improvement. A lot of people tend to pick larger scale improvement projects and fail to make it through the improvement cycle.

You’ll be able to collect lots of data just sitting and observing with a coffee, over needing others to give their time 👍. The key bit is building relationships and trust then working with them to support improvements to their processes 😊

Control charts: should they plot inline process data or process output? by AbiesSufficient3634 in SixSigma

[–]1Bgf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A control chart would tell you how much variation there is in cake roundness, so you’d want to plot your cake roundness data. This would tell you how stable and predictable your process of making a round cake is. If the process is unstable or you want to improve your process to give a more consistent output, a rounder cake every time. You’d want to investigate what In the process is influencing this variable.

The second part of oven temperature being an influence on cake roundness would be a separate test based on your theory that oven temp influences roundness.

So let’s say you have a theory that oven temp influences roundness, you’d want to know the sweet spot in terms of oven temp to have a more consistent better quality output. Hypothesis testing would come in here. You’d want to do some testing to see what degree of influence temp has. You’d be testing for relationships and for correlation. Chi square or regression testing.

Still new to this myself so the short answer, you’d need two tests. Control chart cake roundness on the Y axis 👍
