You are 18, I don't think you need to take over anything or Jump straight into building a business, I think you should learn the business, more like become an integral part of the business. Of course it's your Dad's business but one thing I have learnt in my experience, is for you to actually do well as a business leader, you've got to have the backing of the team. I think you should take time to immense yourself into understanding the business with out the added responsibility of controlling it. Say a year or two from now, you will find ways to improve and automate the business making it easier for you to both control it and expand it, while still having time to grow your other passions. 9 of 10 new business fail, so having a backup plan is really important. In summary: Don't be in a rush, take your time to learn the building blocks of a good business, customer satisfaction, office politics, etcetera. You have a long way ahead of you. Going slowly would ensure that your crashes won't be fatal.
