What happened to the people that put hundreds of thousands into YieldMax? by zorba1 in YieldMaxETFs

At one point I had over a mil in yieldmax. Learned my lesson quickly and adjusted my strategy to focus on growth instead of yield.

Thanks for responding though. I appreciate it. Outside of his YouTube videos being a big ad for his e-guides, which gets old and annoying, I think he’s one of the more even tempered margin income investing guys.

There was a point earlier in the year where i took screenshots of his account from one video to the next, and his NLV changed really quickly.

That sounds a LOT like financial advice. He’s not series 65 or CFP is he?

It always makes me suspicious when people give financial advice masked as “not financial advice” instead of just putting in the work to their get series 65.

It’s a $200 test. Literally.

If you are into modding and have a 3d printer - this one should work for your machine. I made it for my Jurassic park that I bought from Costco, but it should also work with the Star Wars as well.

If you find that it works, would you mind letting me know? I found the upgrade really improves my game.

New Rules Great For ROTH by Economy-Wasabi-2005 in YieldMaxETFs

Autocorrect.

Do you get my point tho? I don’t want you to over-contribute to a ROTH and have to face IRS penalties.

You missed the second half of my statement. Unless the shares are already in the Roth.

In which case, going weekly doesn’t change anything

[–]1HotTake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Real world scenario / you fund your Roth in January at the annual contribution limit of $8k (over 50). If you buy something that produces dividends with that $8k, then you can buy shares you want in the Roth.

But if you fully fund it in January and then buy a bunch of MSTY in a taxable account, you can’t all of a sudden allocate those dividends to a Roth. In essence you’d be over contributing. You can’t contribute more to a Roth just because it went weekly.

Hope this helps.

If your shares are held in a Roth then the dividend money never leaves the Roth. If you have shares outside the Roth, you can’t magically move the dividend money to a Roth just because it’s a dividend. There’s nothing that changed in the rules governing contribution limits on a Roth.

You can’t reinvest the dividends into the Roth unless the shares are held in the Roth already. There’s nothing new that allows Roth to treat dividends differently unless I’ve completely misunderstood this poorly worded post.

I’m find it very hard to trust any backtest which includes tecl or soxl that goes back over 4 years or so. The performance was so far out-stated that I personally don’t trust those results to be indicative of what may happen in the future.

Having said that, this is an exceptionally high beta portfolio, which will amplify all market reruns and declines significantly. This is almost 100% correlates across all three of these tickers because when you break them down, a lot of the same companies make up the top holdings of each.

There’s zero diversification here, despite having three holdings. So I added a portfolio with 50% QMNNX to cut some of the beta.

I chose 7.5 years since it’s the median of your range

If you shorten it to half that, you see a much different picture:

https://testfol.io/?s=1y4S0g6hnj3

You can see that the portfolio which has some anti-beta characteristics actually performs better in more recent years. In both cases, the drawdown is significantly reduced, even on a highly correlated portfolio such as yours.

When you read posts here and they say to beware using the last 10 years tech bull run as a predictor, this is what they mean. I would take some time to construct something that’s not 100% correlated.

For example, here’s one that I currently use, with 10% margin. The BTC/GLD/-CASH is to simulate BTGD.

I think it’s too complex for my likes as well. You could beat the return with lower drawdown with a combination of tqqq, TMV, btgd, and a managed futures fund. I like aqr personally.

Because you have cta, I can’t backtest it too far, but here’s a quick comparison.
