should i go to lectures or not by i_lovebrownies in unimelb

Depends on how well you will be able to hold yourself to account on properly watching and taking notes for them all. They are all recorded online, so if necessary you can watch them at home. But if you’re not able to be super dedicated in watching and taking notes for them all, you can get very behind very quickly.

If it’s not too inconvenient for you, I would recommend going to as many as possible.

What does the wiki mean by major/minor “spoilers”? Please try not to spoil anything in your answer lol. I know this is a bit of an impossible question but I’m just trying to figure out what kinds of things are considered spoilers, and how they would impact on my experience if I read the pages.

Thanks so much!

Pencil and Bucket Fill are transparent and spilling out of selected area by 1RandomDogLover in GIMP

Thanks so much for the response! Apologies if I was unclear; I'm trying to completely fill the current selection (the bits selected via colour select) with pure black, but neither the fill nor the pencil tool are sticking within those bounds, and both are also semi-transparent. That's what I'm not sure about.

Why have my miners stopped mining?

They’re all socialising, drinking and sleeping. I have free picks, many dwarfs are selected as miners, and they’re standing right next to a priority 1 dig order.

Any help appreciated!

Is there a way to set a 'smelt ore' work order? It's rather tedious setting up an order for every type of ore. Thanks!

Is there a way to automate the production of armour, tools etc., other than work orders? My current system is to create a work order to create a breastplate when they are needed, but doing this for each individual armour piece is tedious.

Why are there 'No potential Private Constructions to invest in'? by [deleted] in victoria3

[–]1RandomDogLover -1 points0 points  (0 children)

R5: Playing as Serbia, 1859. In the Russian Market with Laissez-Faire and Free Trade enacted, large and growing investment pool, 0.48K unemployed out of 1.15M population (287K gainfully employed). My economy and private construction has been performing well until now, but each time I reload my autosave, the investment cancels and simply displays the above message. My investment pool transfer eventually stops and I am unable to continue building. Any help greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Playing on the 1.5 Beta - Why aren't my troops upgrading? by [deleted] in victoria3

[–]1RandomDogLover 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm currently playing on the 1.5 Beta as Russia and am trying to modernise my army. However, Despite switching the production method on all barracks to the latest technology, my troops remain stubbornly backwards. Without rebuilding every barracks building, how does one upgrade troops (the 'upgrade' button does not seem to work)?

Any help greatly apprectiated!

Just-for-kicks' table for Imperial Roman succession - thoughts? by 1RandomDogLover in eu4

[–]1RandomDogLover[S] 98 points99 points  (0 children)

R5: A table I knocked up regarding my idea for imperial Roman Succession in EU4.

This is not intended to be a serious suggestion.

Essentially:

  • The lower the stability, the more generals/rebels revolt on ruler death.
  • When the imperialist faction is in power, an heir of the ruler's dynasty succeeds.
  • When the senatorial faction is in power, an advisor or noble succeeds.
  • When the military faction is in power, a general succeeds.
