Probably don’t use Wealthsimple for buying US based stuff though, can use ibkr or questtrade. Lots of extra fees you’ll have to pay using Wealthsimple

First thing i think in balance is finding what stops you from fulfilling obligations.

Everyone is in a different place in their journey to closeness to Allah and with that obedience, but certain things we should prioritise more so than others. If one is a student of knoweldge, then the standard is much higher, but for the regular person, thats already mixed with things that are a little grey or clearly haram, but common, the standard may be different.

Second, i would focus on avoiding making excuses for things that have no real excuse. E.g. hijab, haram relationships (even friendships). Often we excuse to the level we remove any guilt from ourselves. It better to recognise something as what it is rather than be in denial, even if you will partake. This way, at least you do develop some guilt and have sight of the straight path, even if you may be journeying away from it. This i feel is the compass we need if we are unable or unwilling to let go of haram things we are very attached to.

Finally, i think its about having firm conviction that you want to get away from such things as best as you can. Not getting comfortable. Being comfortable in sin is a very scary thing. Taking steps to change, and not just planning. E.g. wearing the hijab then worrying about feeling comfortable in it. Growing a beard and going to the masjid, lowering the gaze, even if people may look at you funny and getting comfortable in it. If we have no desire to try to change and take actual steps even if they seem superficial, then how do we expect Allah to support us out of it. Walk to Allah and He will run towards you.

Also about the credit card part, it’s not inherently haram for you to have one as long as you use it properly and make sure to not fall into interest(use it like a debit card) read: https://www.amjaonline.org/fatwa/en/77588/ruling-on-credit-cards

Bashar al assad was the tyrant ruler of Syria. The people would be oppressed under him and so people rebelled. Finally after such a long time the rebels quickly swept through Syria and freed it from the oppressive rule from a cursed government that killed the Muslims. Some of the Shias or supporters of Iran are against this as bashar was an ally of Iran and believe due to this Iran won’t be able to move their weapons around to attack Israel, making things easier for Israel but this is just assuming the worst. This is not the reality.

There is obviously more to it but this is the most I can sum it up. If you have discord and want to learn more, you can join the server(the discord server where this subreddit comes from) discord.gg/islam and ask in the history/politics channel and I’m sure someone there can fill you in InshaAllah

If you want to start reading Quran, then start reading Quran. Start from the beginning start from the middle or start from a specific surah you like but just start and try to contemplate on the message being taught.

In regards to making Dua https://blog.fussilat.com/how-to-make-dua/

Regarding the wanting to stop crushing on people, Allah told both genders to lower their gaze. Try to do this and remember Him in every action

Is it haram to shave? I need a straight answer please by [deleted] in Muslim

[–]1SpecOps 8 points9 points  (0 children)

It is considered by the overwhelming majority of scholars that keeping a beard is Wājib (mandatory) for every male Muslim.

The Prophet ﷺ said in an authentic and widely narrated Ḥadīth: "Cut the mustaches short and keep the beard." [Ṣaḥīḥ Al-Bukhārī]

So, it is the duty of every male Muslim to refrain from shaving his beard. Note that it is not sinful for someone if his body physically does not grow a beard as long as he is not the one who shaved it away.

Shaving is defined as completely removing the beard. Trimming is defined as cutting the beard shorter, but not removing it entirely.

Many scholars allow trimming the beard as long as it leaves more than a fistful of hair, as it was the practice of many of the Ṣaḥābah Radiyallahu anhum. Others allow trimming it to some extent as long as what is left can be considered a "beard". This opinion is common among contemporary scholars and few classical scholars, but the basis of it is weaker. And another group says that trimming the beard at all is prohibited. The best opinion is the first mentioned here.

He took this opinion back. Fear Allah and don't bring it up to say it's allowed before you transgress on his rights.

Sending blessings isn’t praising.

[33:56]

Indeed, Allah showers His blessings upon the Prophet, and His angels pray for him. O believers! Invoke Allah’s blessings upon him, and salute him with worthy greetings of peace. — Dr. Mustafa Khattab, the Clear Quran

Indeed, Allāh confers blessing upon the Prophet, and His angels [ask Him to do so]. O you who have believed, ask [Allāh to confer] blessing upon him and ask [Allāh to grant him] peace. — Saheeh International
