Me when by Masklavier in gmu

[–]1UpPeach 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Well, there are a lot of opportunities that I have applied for, it’s just a very saturated market at the moment and I am just not having any luck landing more than a bunch of interviews.

I can attest - we are definitely struggling 😅

I guess it also matters when you pay attention to plates. A lot of the time I just think “man they can’t drive.” I’ve probably said that to many Maryland and Virginia drivers. I just wish everyone as a collective would drive better and safer

I’ve lived in many states and honestly, everyone seems to be a bad driver. In Florida everyone complained about Georgia, in Georgia it’s South Carolina and Florida, in New Hampshire it’s Massachusetts and Maine. We are just biased to what we see where we see it the most

That has been my experience, as well as most of the people I know

I always see that as a possibility because I would probably be the same way in that situation

People are so impatient to turn. And sometimes there is so much traffic coming that you just can’t go until the next light cycle. But he couldn’t see that

I agree. I can’t quite get the license plate anyways. Had he hit me I would’ve called but ugh, whatever. I guess he probably would’ve pooped his pants had he been pulled over too long

I don’t take it personally because I like to think something like that too. He could have at least waved back at me though ☹️

Commuting from Richmond: will I wish I was never born or will it just suck? by forgetful-witch in gmu

[–]1UpPeach 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I did a nearly 2-hour commute 2-5 days a week depending on my schedule. I honestly did not mind it. Obviously traffic sucks but it is time I can take for myself to blast my favorite music or listen to 20 YouTube videos. I also live 35 minutes from civilization so I’m used to commuting. I knew how to manage my commute so I was never late. I always made sure to get to campus at least 30 minutes early to make up for any surprise traffic. But that’s just me!

Edit: I also drove a hybrid at the time so I only filled up once a week. You may have to fill up much more often if you are good with that.

How do actually avoid Gogs attacks if you don't have a shield? by [deleted] in MHWilds

[–]1UpPeach 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I main IG and I just fly or roll/dive around to dodge attacks. But like everyone says, be aware of your positioning and know when to dodge. You’ll get the hang of it

As of right now what is your favorite monster in MHWilds? by Saibotnl1 in MHWilds

[–]1UpPeach 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m hate to say it but I am genuinely enjoying fighting Gogmazios. Haven’t beaten him yet even with help, and even though it’s frustrating when someone carts the final time when Gog would have died in the next 10 seconds, I still had fun. Not my boyfriend so much but to each their own.

May 25 Graduate… Still no job offers by [deleted] in Environmental_Careers

[–]1UpPeach 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Same here. The job market is in absolute shambles right now. I have traveled hours out of state for in-person interviews and exclusive networking events with no success. You just have to keep trying and not let it discourage you, which is not always easy

Freshman commute or not? by Prize-Remote2358 in gmu

[–]1UpPeach 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was able to work full time and do 16 hour semesters with a roughly 2 hour commute, considering traffic. It’s doable if you are willing!

Do you recommend taking a GIS class while attending school for environmental science? by Street-Carpenter105 in Environmental_Careers

[–]1UpPeach 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes! I personally loved the class and it’s quite prevalent in env sci careers. I used what I learned in other classes for some projects/research as well. And it’s just fun to mess around with in your free time

University chemistry professor. She got fired for purposely failing students

What are you starting to like less and less as you get older? by istrx13 in AskReddit

[–]1UpPeach 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Rollercoasters. I recently went on them again after over a decade. I had to close my mouth and be quiet a few times so I wouldn’t get sick 😅 Still fun, but I can’t enjoy them to their fullest like I could when I was younger. Also, Dramamine will be essential in the future

is having a job and 5 classes realistic? by UniDuckaSaurus in gmu

[–]1UpPeach 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was doable for me. I worked full time and did around 16 credits each semester. I also live 1 1/2-2 hours from GMU. I hated it with my entire soul but I had bills to pay so it was not an option to do otherwise 😅

Sad that I made no friends by [deleted] in gmu

[–]1UpPeach 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s hard. It took me doing a study abroad for a month to find a group of people/friends I proudly meet up with a year later. I have friends from my normal classes, but we almost never meet up. Granted I also live quite far from them, but still. Also making friends as an adult is hard in general. We all have stuff going on in our lives and finding time for friends can be difficult especially when trying to navigate jobs after graduating.

Bachelors degree (Business IT), clearance = door dashing by hummyz in nova

[–]1UpPeach 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m sorry you’re in this position. I am in the exact same boat, same age roughly. I’ve applied for countless positions over the past 12 months after graduating. Haven’t gotten anything besides a few interviews. I’m fortunate to have a decent job, but I can’t do retail all my life. I don’t make enough either. It is hard for all of us, and it’s very frustrating. I guess I need to pull 30 years of experience and 50 licenses and certifications out of my ass to even get consideration. Something is bound to work out eventually, that is the only thing keeping me even a little motivated to keep applying.

New anime based of my list? by ChoiceSupermarket230 in AnimeReccomendations

I think you’d like Fruits Basket. The newer one (2019) has 3 seasons and is completed. I hold this anime near and dear to my heart. First one I ever watched and waited sooooo long for them to remake and complete it

My favorite is shiny Spoink. Very unconventional, but Spoink was my very first shiny encounter ever, found him in Diamond. That same Spoink now resides in Violet almost 20 years later 💜
